Do you know when something just gives you the feels? You know; the warm and fuzzies, the butterflies in your tum, that pure excitement that makes you want to beam from ear to ear…well, thats how I felt when the wonderful Cindy of Peachy Keen Coordination got in touch with this gorgeous, beachy shoot which gave me ALL the mermaid vibes.
Captured by Amanda Jay Photography in partnership with Jordan & Khrystina Films, the team wanted to collaborate on something capturing the love of a couple so deeply in love that all their needed was them and the Oregon Coast. Brave enough to brace and withstand the weather, the team wanted to bring forward a bit of playfulness and lose the traditional nautical vibes, and instead bring forward a generous amount of colour which you will see in the florals and in the crystal cake crafted by Next Door Desserts.
“We were also totally enamored by a beach picnic complete with eclectic pieces from Vintage Meets Modern and adorable signage from Letters & Dust encouraging guests to remove their shoes and enjoy the sand between their feet!” Cindy
With two bridal beauty looks pulled together by Kristen Nicole and Romantic Tresses and two opposing fashions, the team wanted to convey the notion that although you may stand side by side in dresses, you can each still have your own unique characteristics for your desired appearance on your wedding day. We LOVE the dresses by Merrime Bride & Soiree and Rent The Runway; both allowing each bride to stay true to their personal style.
Both brides wore beautiful custom created footwear by Brenna Burnett Florals and Pretty Knotted Things, and both brides wore bespoke jewellery provided by Metal & Pebble Jewelry Co. The beautiful forest backdrop was complemented by macrame custom created by Pretty Knotted Things.
Cindy explains that the most unexpected thing happened during shooting, and it was one that moved all of the suppliers in that moment…
“One of our model brides proposed a domestic partnership during the photoshoot. The pause in the modelling vs authentic engagement between the two was very endearing and a special moment for all present.”
How amazing to have bore witness to such a gorgeous, personal moment!
Whilst the photos show an incredible, clear day, shooting wasn’t as easy as it looked. In March, the Oregon coast is really windy, and the day of shooting was particularly chilly. However, Mother Nature was forgiving and allowed the team some beautiful sun, and they could not completely race away from the incoming tide!
“Like true wedding days, you learn how to be creative and think on your feet. Since we had access to a beautiful beach cabin (where the models also got ready) we decided as a team that it was best to relocate as to not watch our beautiful pieces be taken by the ocean.”
