Wild Love at Deception Pass

Big love for this shoot, set amongst the landscape of Deception Pass State Park.

Big love for this Washington shoot, set amongst the gorgeous landscape of Deception Pass State Park. We reached out to Tatiana of Rosemary & Pine photography after seeing some beautiful shots from the shoot floating about on Insta. We instantly wanted to showcase it in all its wild and natural beauty.

There are so many things we love about this concept…from the surroundings, to the styling. The palette is so delicate set against the raw of the wilderness, with pops of peach and pink, and flashes of brighter reds and orange. It is, in a word, dreamy.

We also love that real bride Karaline left her beaut vintage glasses on. We love a strong glasses look.

Catching up with Tatiana, the photographer, I wanted to understand more about what the day entailed…

“It was such a romantic day to venture out with Robert and Karaline as our models. Karaline wore a dress by Free People that she actually wore at her wedding reception, which her and Robert celebrated just the year before!

So many amazing vendors played a key role in making this day as amazing and beautiful as it was. Al & Bloom created such beautiful floral pieces that complemented 3Eleven Event’s styling so well that I almost couldn’t get over how romantic and beachy the whole tablescape felt. Some of my favourite items used for styling were the beautiful brass candlesticks that brought so much romanticism and dimension to the tablescape. Al & Bloom’s cascading florals don’t fall fair behind though!”

Sometimes a pared back styled shoot makes for the most impactful. A simple but beautifully constructed tablescape, a beautiful stationery flatlay and the cake styled to perfection. And then a programme of stunning couple shots.

That’s exactly what this team did. And nailed it.

“I loved how down to earth, romantic, and adventurous this entire day was. Elegance was intertwined through bits and pieces of the day, but still, it included so much texture and a touch of boho that made such a good connection to the location.” Tatiana

The shoot location is so idyllic…we wish we could travel to all the amazing places our submissions come from. But we are especially loving the contrast between the golden grades, the sandy ground and the beautiful evergreens in the background. Such a gorgeous representation of nature.

And despite it being a cold day, we can feel the warmth between this sweet newlywed couple…

“I loved shooting with Robert and Karaline as newlyweds because their love for one another said it all. It feels so good when almost every aspect of a shoot comes together so flawlessly from the connection your couple has to vendor styles jiving better than you could dream of” Tatiana

From the sumptuous cake finished with edible gold leaf, to the rosy tones of the stunning stationery suite, each and every supplier captured the vibe and delivered such an array of incredible pieces to make this whole shoot run like a dream.

One of our favourite aspects of this shoot is the fashion. The dress worn by Karaline, by the amazing Free People, is so beautifully bohemian and effortless…the scooped back, the winged sleeves…and not forgetting the button detailing! We lovvvvve that she chose to wear sandals as opposed to the typical bridal heel. Robert, incredibly dapper in his dark grey suit, chose the perfect brown shoes to complement the surrounding landscape.

And seriously, how can we forget that bouquet. So beautiful in its abundance, and perfectly rich and tonal.

When asked about how the shoot went, Tatiana explains…

“I can’t say that I felt there were many challenges during this day. Everything, even the weather, felt so perfectly chosen that I could not have asked for a better creative experience.” Tatiana

Well, you can’t get much better than that, can you…

Well done to a fabulous team!

Boho With A Twist At Lock 91

We love a boho wedding setup in different, unique locations…like this gorgeous industrial boho shoot in Manchester.

So you probably know Wed in The Wild best for it’s outdoorsy, boho vibe; being at one with nature and discovering the great outdoors. But we really dig a boho wedding setup in different, unique locations…like this gorgeous industrial boho shoot at Lock 91 in Manchester.

We don’t know whether it’s Editor Jenna’s northern roots, or whether it’s the beautiful boho nods, but this shoot has some serious styling goals and gorgeous colour pops. It’s making us feel a little bit warm and tingly inside, which is saying something as the weather has turned so cold!

Submitted by Michelle Healey of Michelle Amy Weddings, this whimsical setup will send your head a-spinning with its Pinterest-worthy wedding inspiration…

Now if you are a sucker for macrame like we are, then you’ll love this amazing hexagonal backdrop from Bespoke Events and Styling woven with intricate macrame weaves by Little White Attic. It was certainly one of the focal points of this ‘perfect nod to boho’ styled shoot, which Michelle tells us about…

“We wanted to create a boho style wedding in an industrial setting. Boho is such a fab style and is usually shown in outdoor setting with tipis and such, so we wanted to show that the two can marry together, and with the right setting and venue this can be done indoors.”

The team chose Lock 91 in Manchester as the venue for the shoot; which is, internally, lovely and moody. Emma Boyle’s photography perfectly captured the moodiness of the venue and added to that dark charm that we associate with bohemian weddings.

uwc lock 91-45

uwc lock 91-55

The team from Little White Attic also supplied an insane macrame canopy, which stole the styling show as far as we are concerned…we would love to see more of it to be honest! This showstopper was used to frame the beautiful cake by Urban Cake House.

The cake, beautifully detailed in its appearance, featured piped macrame, copper hexagons which fitted seamlessly into the theme of the shoot. We especially love the bottom tier, which looks like different colour geodes…and definitely good enough to eat.

We’re not meaning to be biased here, but one of our favourite aspects of the shoot (aside from, well…all of it), is the stationery. There sometimes isn’t enough emphasis on stationery in a shoot but the items provided by Raspberry Toast are just beautiful. And completely in contact to what most stationery for boho weddings looks like. This suite is super clean with gorgeous copper nods, and we are loving Cath’s creativity.

Outdoors, the team setup a tablescape and chill out area for the model, Charlotte, to relax amongst. The florals, by Perfect Bouquet included so much gorgeous texture, from ferns and pampas to delicate cows parsley.

Emma captured this shoot in all its dark and moody beauty.; just the right emotive photography needed to match the dark qualities of the venue, Lock 91. And Michelle explains how the weather fitted the darkness of the shoot…typical of Manchester!

“As we had a setup outside we had to stay on weather watch, dark clouds threatened the skies and we were so lucky, as we wrapped the shoot the heavens opened!” Michelle

Real Wedding: Rebecca & Michael

Don’t let this summer wedding fool you, it’s full of festive vibes…

It might be a summer wedding we’re showcasing today but there are so many beautiful festive vibes at work here…from the beautiful berry purple of the bridesmaid dresses to the stunning festoon lighting at the venue.

We love Rebecca Carpenter‘s work, so when she got in touch with Rebecca and Michael’s big day, we literally bit her hand off. Rebecca’s work is so honest and natural; her effervescent personality is intrinsic to how she gets the best out of her couples and we can see just how much of a good time they have working with her. And Rebecca and Michael were no exception….

“They were so warm and friendly from the moment they booked; we kept in touch via e-mail and whatsapp! When I showed up on their day it felt like I was meeting an old friend when I met Rebecca. Her family and bridesmaids were so welcoming, fun and positive to be around.” Rebecca

Rebecca&Michael-74

Rebecca&Michael-55

As you will see from this real wedding, Rebecca is great at capturing both the big picture and the smaller details; from the couples chosen fragrances and stationery, to little details on the wedding breakfast tables. It’s the little things couples often forget, and so this is a really important part of wedding photography.

You may also recognise the Royal Mail ‘something for you’ notecard which went a little Instagram viral when Rebecca posted it onto her grid. Like we said…it’s the little details that make a wedding day truly complete.

Rebecca&Michael-81

Rebecca&Michael-113

Rebecca&Michael-169

When thinking back to this beautiful real wedding, Rebecca remembers if being one that really stuck out for her in 2018…

“I know this sounds like a cliche but the whole day was just a photographers dream. I loved it all. The weather was incredible, the bride and groom were madly in love, their little girl Bluebell was present, they had the most stunning flowers, there were the beautiful and hilarious bridesmaids, and of course, there was the loveliest church ceremony.” Rebecca

Rebecca&Michael-291

Rebecca&Michael-472

Rebecca&Michael-515

Rebecca&Michael-527

This couple really did cover all bases with their wedding planning…every aspect of their day was detailed and tailored to their life and their loves…from food and drink, to decor and even the games that they played during the wedding breakfast…

“Rebecca and Michael thought of everything – The Mr and Mrs Game led by the Bride’s brother was created so that all the guests were involved and were able to interact. There were details the bride and groom really thought hard about, such as the strawberries and cream stand, pimp your processco stand, a harpist and a fabulous cheese tower.” Rebecca

We love the table plan…a whimsical fairytale/literary plethora of the couples favourite stories, and each table was themed around the table plan. We also love all the little details around the barn venue, from the festoon lighting, the little paper lanterns and the photo wall showcasing the couples time together.

Rebecca&Michael-557

Rebecca&Michael-665

Rebecca&Michael-622

Rebecca&Michael-643

When it came to photography, Rebecca had a blast with the couple and their guests.

“I had so many ideas for photographs that day and sometimes you do get resistance from people. However, Rebecca and Michael, her bridesmaids and the wedding guests in general were down for anything and everything! From setting off confetti canons during bridal prep, to jumping fences and going into a field for celebratory photos are some of my favourite moments of that day.” Rebecca

Rebecca&Michael-719

Rebecca&Michael-782

Rebecca&Michael-922

Rebecca&Michael-1023

When it came to challenges on the day, Rebecca explained that the curse of the sharp sunlight struck…every photographers nightmare…

“I think the biggest challenge that day was that the sun was scorching which never really makes for the best photos. Eyes squinting and harsh shadows never make for the prettiest of photos, so I decided to hold off doing the couple portraits until later in the day when the light had settled. It was a bit of a gamble when a wedding is busy and flowing, but I explained to the couple that for the best results we wait until then and I’m so glad they trusted me!” Rebecca

And so are we, because the couple shots and celebratory bridesmaid/bridal portraits are just to die for! Well done Rebecca, and huge congrats to the beautiful Rebecca and Michael.

Today’s styled elopement is bringing us all the festive vibes and all the Christmassy boho-luxe…

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and it’s also the most cosy time of the year for those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere. Today’s epic styled elopement shoot from our faves at Rock & Stone Weddings is bringing us all the festive vibes. Theres snow, there are fur throws, and there is a whole load of Christmassy boho-luxe…

Wrap up and snuggle in tight…this one will give you allllllll the feels…

Amber of Rock & Stone explains more about the concept behind the elopement shoot…

“Kevin & Steph had recently got engaged and answered a model call for a snowy elopement shoot on Mount Rainier. We wanted to create something with some holiday spirit but avoid it looking like an over-the-top Christmas theme. We settled on a magical boho vibe, with lots of texture, a cosy bed in the woods with faux furs and sequins to contrast with the the glorious expanses of white.”

The shoot certainly does that. We love the contrasting textures and how the juxtapose against the beauty of the snowy, natural woodland. When the photos first landed in our inbox we instantly thought…Narnia! A vibe which Amber herself felt too whilst constructing the day.

When flicking through the images, we were blown away by the details. The tablescape is abundant and flowing without looking heavily stylised, and the bed area is just perfection and something we haven’t seen before.

We love how Steph looked so effortless in her chic dress with the prettiest, dazzling embellishments…perfectly glistening in the snowy wonderland. Paired with stone boots and a dramatic oxblood fur coat and fedora, this bridal look is exquisite. Kevin looked suitably dapper, even for a trek up a snowy mountainside…hats off, it must have been freezing!

Kevin, an Arizona native had never seen snow in real life before and so the team loved seeing him experience it for the first time!

“Even though I’ve been to Mount Rainier a few times now, I still get goosebumps, and for Steph & Kevin who had never been before I think they were kind of blown away. We spent the afternoon in the sun, mainly watching Kevin act like a kid at DisneyLand; there’s something pretty cute about seeing a grown man make his first snow angel!” Amber

Christmas has definitely come early with this striking elopement…we hope you enjoy it as much as we do…

Bohotanical: Angelic, Boho Vibes

A stunning, fresh faced model, an Areca palm intertwined bouquet, and a Polynesian inspired flower crown.

When we received this shoot, we legit thought that it was set in woodlands somewhere way more tropical than Wakefield. Yes, you heard us correctly. Wakefield.

We don’t know if it’s the models stunning, fresh face, the Areca palm leaves intertwined into the lush green bouquet, or the flower crown which reminds us of an abundant Polynesian headdress. But this shoot is just stone-cold, drop-dead gorgeous, and could easily have been shot on a Hawaiian island. Thats just the magic of this talented creative team.

woodlandweddingphotography(4of55)

woodlandweddingphotography(5of55)

woodlandweddingphotography(8of55)

Shot by Hannah of Anna Beth Photography, the vision for the shoot was to showcase a more carefree, boho vibe for bride, Savannah. Traditional went out the window for the dress and the team opted for an incredibly light and flowing dress from Jan Si Fashion.

Perfectly fitting, we’d say. The lightness of the fabric is a beautiful juxtaposition to the forest floor and roughage of the grasses. We are loving the v neckline and the peeking bikini element…something we’ve never seen before, and is absolutely perfect for a destination wedding somewhere warm.

woodlandweddingphotography(10of55)

woodlandweddingphotography(20of55)

The team agreed on an all-green bouquet and flower crown, to match the surroundings of the woodland. Hannah was keen for Savannah to look at one in the wild! We love the use of greenery to make the bridal look pop and the mixture of ferns, palms and other greenery is really striking.

woodlandweddingphotography(52of55)

woodlandweddingphotography(55of55)

The invites, created by Ever After Paperie, utilised hand torn black card with gorgeous, luxurious gold calligraphy, wax seals with a foliage design and hand torn silks in a beautiful shade of grey.

Hair and make up was kept natural but sleek for an editorial edge. Hannah explains that despite their model being carefree, wild and free-spirited, the team wanted her to look like a stunning goddess in the woodland. And she does, completely.

woodlandweddingphotography(25of55)

woodlandweddingphotography(34of55)

Hannah explains that the shoot went off without a hitch, with the only challenge being the huge spiders webs in the forest; avoiding those was a bit of a hurdle! But, all the spider-dodging was worth it for the beautiful golden hour light which came streaming through the huge pine trees at the end of the day.

Atop Black Balsam

Bridal shoot set atop Black Balsam, giving Wuthering Heights vibes for bride Kayla.

When I saw a couple of the images from this shoot on Instagram, I knew I had to reach out to the photographer, Alli, to feature them. They gave me a real Wuthering Heights moment, and since I grew up close to the moors that the Bronte’s wrote about in their books, this visually stunning shoot just had to grace Wed in The Wild.

Shot in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains that border North and South Carolina the landscape is wild and natural, aside from the gravel footpath and the winding road in the distance which brought the team to their chosen location.

Alli’s love for nature is clear; her shots go beyond solely capturing the lovely model, Kayla, and capture the beauty of the landscape too.

“I had to stop and take in how beautiful the whole scenario was. The mountains. A gorgeous bride. The wind bringing life to all around it. The evergreens that give me the green I oh, so love for my pictures. Everything was just perfect.”

kayla-23

kayla-2

kayla-27

kayla-32

With a simple bridal look, Kayla fits the essence of a natural, relaxed bride. We love understated styling here at Wed in The Wild, and the free flowing hair, natural makeup and simple flowers captivate against the stunning backdrop of Black Balsam point.

The dress, from Lulu’s only adds to the romanticism and the connotations of 18th century literature…with a flowing skirt, sweet ribbons, intrinsic lace sleeves and a beautiful belt. The open back thoroughly modernises the whole look.

kayla-89

kayla-96

kayla-108

As with most outdoor shoots, set atop a mountain, the weather was a bit of an obstacle.

“It was absolutely freezing cold to the point to where I couldn’t feel my hands as I snapped each shot. The wind didn’t help either as it hit us with all of its might that it had that day. The hike is difficult, especially for someone in a dress, because some of the rocks are nearly a climb straight upward. We were hoping that it would be sunny for golden hour, but the cloud coverage was too thick.”

But with shots like this…how can you really be disappointed! While the wind was one of the challenges, each image has so much personality; each bluster giving life to the dress and to the models hair.

kayla-111

Alli explained that the location is so unique in relation to where she lives, and as such, she loves to bring clients up to Black Balsam to shoot. And we can totally see why, with a landscape like that…

Bowing To The Hat Trend…

If there is one trend right now that we cannot get enough of, it’s brides in hats!

If there is one trend right now that we cannot get enough of, it’s brides in hats. Fedora’s, stetsons, you name it…if a bride is wearing a hat, we’re pretty much in love!

Gone are the days where a veil and a tiara, or even a flower crown, were the only ways you could decorate your hair and head. The modern boho bride has found a way to incorporate headwear into their bridal look, and there isn’t a top hat in sight!

Photography: Jordan Voth

Search Pinterest, or Instagram, and you’ll find a beautiful array of inspiration on how to style your look utilising a hat. And we’ve scoured the net to showcase some of the most beautiful, affordable hats on the market…

However, f you want to go alllllll out though and bag yourself a bonafide, handmade, custom hat, then you need to be seeking out The Wise Hatter. Creator, Brandon Wise, is passionate about hats. He has created hats for cowboys, musicians, travellers, bloggers and more, and all of his hats are created to last a lifetime. His hats are an investment and start at $600.

Boho Meets The South

Boho meets the South in this wild, bohemian inspired shoot set on a hop farm in Florida.

I had written this post in anticipation of a cool autumn day, hoping to warm you with the rich golden tones and seasonal browns, greens and ochres…but October had a different plan! Instead, it’s unnaturally warm!

I’ve been in love ever since this shoot hit the inbox. Its full of charm and romance, and is quintessentially bohemian; jam packed with beautiful details and a gorgeous couple. Shot by Anna Hayes of Hazography this rich and warming shoot took place at the Hop Life Brewing Centre in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.

She tells us more…

BMTS-40

BMTS-117

“When you walk into Hop Life Brewing Company in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, you feel at home. There’s rustic woods, industrial concrete floods, warm lighting and a moody vibe that really brings together that boho chic feel.”

And whilst the shoot is set indoors and not on a hillside, beach or in a meadow, the vibe still feels very wild, with the abundance of florals and foliage, and the gorgeous cow skull.

BMTS-135

BMTS-146

BMTS-189

“Boho Meets The South brought together vendors that each had their own element and style to bring to the table – from the table frings, to the copper triangle arch, to the wedding dress lace and leather accessories. The idea was a modern twist (Boho Chic) on a classic idea (Southern Wedding) – and I think we nailed it.”

And we totally agree! The vendors completely nailed it…from the abundant table styling, the beautifully in-keeping stationery, the gorgeous cake and the perfect hair, makeup, jewellery and outfits worn by the bride and groom. We especially love the copper arch, which is in stark contrast to the wooden frames we are so used to seeing.
