Aegean Rue de Seine at Laguna Gloria

We’re loving these beautiful couple portraits and the focus on the stunning Rue de Seine dress.

What do you get when you cross the boho Rue De Seine dress of your dreams, with a swish grooms suit from Bonobos? Well, this inspiration shoot, that’s what! Submitted by the wonderful Nikk Nguyen, and shot at Laguna Gloria, we’re loving the beautiful couple portraits and the focus on the gorgeous, intricate details of the stunning Rue de Seine dress.

“Pulling this shoot off was a dream for me as a wedding photographer. Laguna Gloria is one of the most beautiful venues in Austin, Texas and I’ve been looking forward to this boho inspiration shoot for a long time now. To say that I’m happy to see the finished product couldn’t be more of an understatement; I’m ecstatic! This shoot had all the feels, soft, romantic and edgy all in one and to be able to capture it during sunset was a dream come true!” Nikk

Nikk explains that the inspiration for this shoot was ‘a piece of cake’ thanks to the Aegean-inspired gown from Rue De Seine. From the fringe details to the intricate lace patterns, the team were passionate about capturing the dress somewhere as natural, free-flowing and bold as the dress itself and what better place than Laguna Gloria!

“Our stylist and coordinator, Lynsie from Pearl Events, was an absolute master at pulling everything together. I was an awe watching how she took a captivating idea and turned it into a beautiful reality. Everything from the florals, to the tablescape, to the venue itself was an integral part that made this shoot work!” Nikk

Mustard Toned Greenhouse Shoot

We LOVE a greenhouse wedding. And we adore this beautiful greenhouse shoot from Cologne.

We LOVE a greenhouse shoot. Full stop. The shadows, the texture, the interesting nooks and crannies. So when Isabel Pogscheba got in touch which this super boho, mustard-toned shoot, we simply couldn’t say no.

What we love about our role here at Wed in The Wild is being able to share amazing the talents suppliers with our readers, whether they are in the UK, the US, Australia or Europe…like this incredible team from Cologne, Germany. And it’s always so interesting to see the similarities and differences in interpretation, especially with the boho trend. This shoot definitely hits ‘boho’ nail on head…with a beautiful gown, pretty macrame, abundant tablescape styling, feathers and a chill out area you could happily, well, chill for hours in!

The old, overgrown greenhouse provided the perfect, green backdrop to Isabel’s concept, which involved, as the colour palette, lots of grey, green and mustard tones. What we see from the images is a really fresh, lush shoot with lots of amazing boho inspiration…from the bouquet, to the simple cake, to the gorgeous handmade macrame hangers…one in the perfect mustard shade.

The bouquet, although heavily green with oodles of eucalyptus, monstera and other palm leaves, popped with gorgeously soft yellow roses and other white and golden wildflowers. The bride also wore a matching flower crown, switching to a mossy green-grey hat halfway through the shoot, which perfectly matched the grooms suit.

The team styled a gorgeous little table for two with macrame, napkins and gold accents to mirror those utilised in the flowers and the grooms suit. The couple perched on ivory, macrame poufs set on furs. We adore the skull decorated with succulents; it really adds to the character of the shoot.

The couples stationery included nods to the colour scheme but was kept quite modern and edgy. We love the fonts utilised and the curving, wisping foliage decorating the edges; a perfect fit for this greenhouse setup.

The dress is special, with a gorgeous train, laced up details at the back and graceful trumpet sleeves. The lace is beautifully patterned and it just screams boho! We love it. The grooms style perfectly complements all the elements brought together for this shoot with a taupe-grey suit and mustard bow tie…we love a bow tie.

“The touches of lightness and the unconventional, combined with wild and romantic vibes was particularly important to us and the shoot screams ‘unique'” Isabel

The Foragers Tale

Foraged, seasonal beauty set in a secluded cabin

Today’s styled shoot is completely different to our usual posts…and we love it. As we all begin to evaluate our roles in the preservation of our world and our ecosystems, this shoot comes as a lesson on how we can all feel more connected to the environment.

Submitted by florist Sharon Pointen and including one of our faves, Mia Sylvia, the shoot is a beautiful take on being at one with nature, and observing the seasons.

“Imagine our nature loving bride and groom gathering a selection of delicious fruits, perhaps catching fish from the river and creating an intimate celebration of their love.” Sharon

_dsf2487

_dsf2499

Autumn is a magical time of year with the abundance of fruits, seed pods and interesting flowers & foliages, including hops, fresh walnuts, blackberries, grapes, apples which are exciting little gems to be found when exploring and foraging.

“These eclectic textures and elements were key to creating the look. For the flowers, I wanted them to make you feel like you are cocooned within a blanket of seasonal colour and scent” Sharon

There is certainly an abundance about this shoot which has a real seasonal vibrancy about it. Lots of colour from the beautiful food, foliage and flowers. Sharon had wanted to make a double bouquet for a while, and pair it with an intricate statement head-dress, so this was the perfect opportunity.

_dsf2502

_dsf2522

_dsf2561

_dsf2574

Indeed, honouring and respecting the seasons as a supplier and a couple is on the rise, and we love that so many couples are finding the time to understand growing cycles and sourcing things locally and from vintage fairs/markets.

“With each area, there were botanical influences,. The dress was created by Mia Sylvia using natural dyes, including avocado and roses” Sharon

Mia is well known in the East Anglia wedding community for her innovative take on silk and fabric dying. She forages and uses waste/thrown away items to create beautiful garments, dresses, headscarves and linens for tables, draping etc. Each piece is unique and injects a real unique flavour.

_dsf2625

_dsf2629

The back drop was a delightful rustic cabin by a river; challenging due to it’s size but with a lovely array of details which could be utilised.

“It was important to use these without everything looking crammed together. I love the cabin; I had seen it a few years earlier and imagined the floral installations we could create there. Thankfully the owners were happy for us to put this photoshoot together” Sharon

Buns of Fun created the beautiful cake which continued the foraged theme. Hair and makeup on Cathy, the model, were kept loose and natural; adding to the whimsical, romantic air of the shoot. I don’t know about you, some of the photography by Big Phat Photos reminds us of a beautiful Renaissance painting!

Sweet Love at Maple Bay Manor

Love is in the air…yes, it’s Valentines Day, but this shoot has not a cliche in sight!

Love is officially in the air…yes, it’s Valentines Day. And whether you’re celebrating Valentines, Galentines or Palentines this year, we have a straight up, ‘classy with a twist’ love-fest to share with you today. Think bold reds and rich, sickly sweet desserts. Think hearts and roses but not as you know them…

Submitted by awesome planner Kim of Borrowed & Blue Events, this wonderfully emotive shoot held at Maple Bay Manor in Canada is giving us all the feels of the loving season.

“We wanted to create a Valentine’s based shoot that was different; something romantic but boasted elegance. We decided to go for a deeper red mood board with soft touches which I think helped create something unique. The dress used is a locally custom made dress along side the jewellery which is also locally and custom made by Emma Glover Designs” Kim

I think thats the tough thing about Valentines…i.e. not creating something which is totally and utterly cliche, or has been done before. This team brought a vision to the table, and executed every inch of the shoot with respect and finesse, which means the overall tone looks and feels very mature, elegant and refined, rather than garish, in-your-face Valentines day.

1F2A3293-2

1F2A3295-2

1F2A3310-2

1F2A3332-2

From the textual bouquet, featuring anthurium and amaranthus, to the cake and desserts which included gentle nods to the shoot theme, the finer details of this beautiful shoot really help to create a story and a build up to seeing the models appear.

“The biggest challenge for this shoot was gathering our vendors so close after Christmas had ended. We actually changed the date to push it later in the month of January to accommodate how busy everyone has been. “ Kim

1F2A3507-2

1F2A3587-2

1F2A3610-2

1F2A3640-2

The bridal look focuses on elegance and pure, simple beauty; natural makeup with pops of browns to complement the brides lovely complexion, and a relaxed yet structured hair style dotted with pretty little red roses to finish.

The groom, looking smart in his dark grey suit and pale grey tie, added a pop of colour with his boutonniere; while simple, included nods to the stunning bridal bouquet, with hits of red and green.

1F2A4136-2

1F2A4253-2

The real standout of the shoot was the striking foliage filled heart arch…masterfully built with long, trailing ends, under which the couple exchanged rings and spoke their vows. Set against a stunning view for a backdrop, the couple in their beautiful attire were romantically framed by the unique heart arch concept…a total winner in our minds.

“The arch absolutely surpassed all expectations I had. Taylor, the photographer had approached me about doing a Valentines based shoot and had sent me over an image of this heart shaped arch. I showed it to my husband who decided he could make it out of rebar and Calvin at Pacific Coast Metal Craft could weld it together for us. When he brought it home I was blown away, but once we set it on the dock at Maple Bay Manor and Annise from Bespoke Blossoms added the greenery it was easily the strongest and most original part of our shoot” Kim

Hats off to an incredible team, who managed to create such a perfect and tasteful ode to Valentines Day.

Orange Glow and Warming Vibes

With pops of red and orange, this wedding inspiration shoot is packed full of warming glow.

We’re battling colds over here, but this styled shoot is warming our bones RIGHT up…with pops of fiery red and orange, and a warm sunset glow to die for, this gorgeous wedding inspiration shoot is packed full of warm and inviting glow.

Conceptualised and submitted by photographer Koyahni Collins and coordinated by Kim Solecki of Borrowed & Blue Events, there are so many striking aspects of this shoot…from the florals by Bespoke Blossoms to the stunning pearl headpiece created by Emma Glover, and not forgetting the dress lent by Blush Bridal.

“The wedding season begins to slow down in October here and yet the colours of fall are in their most vibrant glory. As an artist I felt drawn to capture the beauty of these colours as a wedding pallet; the sun against the moody tones of autumn combined with real romance. Leaves like sunset, skies crisp and clear, wild love. Let’s inspire more couples to get married here during autumn and even winter! A way to stay inspired myself after a busy summer season and refresh my creativity. With the help of an amazing group of creatives this cooler weathered, modern-bohemian, love story came to life.” Koyahni

And boy did it come to life.

We’re not sure what our favourite part of this shoot was…it’s all so beautiful and visually entrancing. But quite possibly it’s the juxtaposition of the elaborate lace train of the dress, set against the rustic fields…who says you can’t have an all out glam dress and still be a rustic, knees up kinda bride!

And we have to show some love to the men too…the male model’s suit had just the right amount of boho running through it with the tweed waistcoat and the fedora hat. An awesome contrast to the brides super feminine look. But hey, it totally works!

“I came up with the idea and the theme for this styled elopement in the early days of FallI designed each look and chose the location, story and style.” Kohayni

After reaching out to some fabulous suppliers she had already worked with, Koyanhi took on Kim Solecki to help coordinate the remaining vendors and to organise the details. We love Kim; she knows her stuff and can really bring a sense of industry knowledge and understanding to a shoot or a real wedding.

“Everyone seemed really on board with the vision and I appreciated that. I sent out a mood/inspo board to the team and everyone was inspired from there. I think I can speak for everyone in saying styled shoots are really just our chance to play and have some creative fun. However, coordinating these styled shoots is time consuming. The inspiration is the easy part! Kimberly was a great asset, with lots of connections.” Kohayni

Hear, hear…we know exactly how time consuming they can be!

KoyahniPhotography_AutumnElopement-7994

Kohayni and Kim managed to pull together a first class team who understood the brief perfectly. From the florist Bespoke Blossoms, to Emma Glover whose jewellery designs were utilised. Even down to the models…Kendra, the female model, is a friend of Kohayni’s and great to work with, so when the team reached out to her, she was down to be apart of the shoot. Kim led Kohanni to Justin the male model, someone she’d never worked with but who fit the look she was searching for.

The shoot date shifted around a bit because of bad weather which was a challenge. However, in the end, it all came together though and everyone was very professional and played their role beautifully.

“We are all friends, and in this relatively small community it’s fun once in a while to get together and be creative for ourselves.” Kohayni

Christmas Day in the Catskills

This wonderfully festive styled shoot has us swooning over all the little details!

Merry Christmas! We hope you are having a beautiful day with your loved ones, however you are celebrating. Did you have chocolate for breakfast? If you didn’t, you aren’t doing Christmas right!

When we think of Christmas we think of festive reds and greens, and all that’s in between; snow on the ground, hot chocolate in your favourite mug, a blanket to warm your feet and hands. And this super beautiful style shoots has all that…and more. Abundant tablescape styling with perfect attention to detail, rich and seasonal florals and of course, a beautiful red velvet dress.

Submitted by the lovely Natalie Colapietro, the shoot was located in the Catskill Mountains of New York, on top of the stunning Kaaterskill Falls.

266A3609

266A3664

Natalie tells us more…

“Lyndsie and I decided two weeks before this shoot took place that we wanted to play on the idea of a winter wonderland concept and once decided, we knew we would do whatever it took to make the vision come true. We wanted a beautiful velvet dress which would remind us of Christmas, but also wanted to keep the overall feel quite rustic and woodsy with winter boots and whiskey.”

The team reached out to vendors from three different states (New York, Vermont and Massachusetts) in the hope that some were crazy enough to come together for a last minute shoot!

266A3714

266A3745

266A3865

Natalie and Lyndsie pitched their ideas and everyone was in love; more than excited to be a part of the ensuing magic. Stationary was mailed, the models travel three hours to be on location, and a hairstylist was able to fit the session into her extremely busy schedule.

Natalie explains that the day was a little hectic weather wise, which you can only imagine…

“The day itself gave us all kinds of difficult weather situations including harsh sunlight, fast winds, and super cold temperatures. Although the weather odds were against us, everything fell into place perfectly once we started shooting. We had enough hand warmers and whiskey to keep everyone from freezing to death! I did find it hard to have a wide variety of shots in such bitter cold though because everyone is just so stiff from shivering and it’s hard to loosen up for those action shots, which is completely understandable. We all had so much fun that we mostly could ignore the cold.”

266A3959

266A3966

When everyone is on the same page and so excited to bring a concept to life, it showcases just how creative people can push aside hindrances and obstacles to make beautiful art happen. And we are so thrilled that the team on this particular shoot was able to do that.

“My favourite part about this entire thing was that most of us started out as strangers and we all became friends instantly. We spent the night together at a cabin playing games, telling stories, laughing, cooking, eating, and drinking, and I’ve never felt so at home with people I had just met before.” Natalie

Oftentimes, within this highly competitive industry, it’s hard to overcome feelings of imposter syndrome and indeed, comparing yourself to others doing a similar job, but what we love about this shoot almost as much as the visual beauty of it, is the way it has brought strangers together and made them friends…now, thats the true meaning of Christmas, friendship. A meaning which Natalie sums up in one heavenly paragraph…

“Christmas is my favorite holiday, and to me this holiday and time of year is all about making memories with the people in our lives who we cherish. I’ve made this amazing memory with these newly cherished people, and I’m forever thankful for every single one of them. They’re forever friends now.”

Festive Elopement Vibes at Big Bear

Warm your hearts with this Big Bear styled elopement

Merry Christmas Eve! Can you believe it’s Christmas Day tomorrow?! It’s come around so fast. We’re definitely feeling the Christmas spirit here at Wed in The Wild and are really enjoying the abundance of reds, greens and snowy vibes filling our Instagram feeds…

We’re massive fans of texture when it comes to weddings…from styling to multi-textured ensembles for the bridal party. So when Alyssa from AMA Designs got in touch with this styled shoot, we leapt at the chance to publish it.

From the super textural florals and the various macrame dreamcatchers hanging from tree branches, to the bridal ensemble with layers of lace, silk chiffon and fur, this shoot is a beautiful homage to the festive period set in the mountain forests of Big Bear, California.

Camylla+JordanShoot-8

Camylla+JordanShoot-16

The flowing red skirt of the bridal gown is light and airy, and we love the vibrancy of the colour juxtaposed against the natural tones for the forest. It really sets the tone for the shoot, with the florals and the macrame working in perfect unison with the garment.

With her hair up in an elegant bun decorated with festive foliage and florals, the bridal model’s face was kept fresh and natural, with a gorgeous pop of colour on the lip.

Camylla+JordanShoot-34

Camylla+JordanShoot-47

We’re completely digging the macrame hangings; huge fans anyway, we love the colours that have been utilised, as we’re so used to seeing the fabric in it’s natural tones. Used as a frame to stage shots, it’s great to see macrame being utilised as a prop beyond a table runner or a ceremony backdrop.

Sometimes a simple shoot speaks volumes. Sometimes a few props are all you need to really leave an impression. We love how this team in particular have made full use of nature and the surrounding area to really sell the fantasy of a Christmas-themed elopement. Everything just works so beautifully, from the minimal, elegant stationery, to the beautiful fur stole worn by the bride.

To us, it’s Christmas vibes, nailed.

A Mind-Blowing, Cheeky Medora Shoot

A cheeky end to this visually stunning shoot set in the wilds of Medora.

When we saw this shoot kicking about on the incredible Blaine Finneseth’s Instagram, we knew we had to get it in the bag. Not only is it set in the most incredible landscape, but the hats and flowers had us at the proverbial ‘hello’.

Blaine is a North Dakota-based photographer, with a passion for capturing perfect moments. Specialising in weddings and graduating seniors, Blaine’s love getting to know people and utilising that familiarity to get the best out of client sessions.

Combining a killer team for this stunning shoot, Blaine captured not only raw emotion but lots and lots of fun with this dramatic conceptual project. And watch out for the cheeky shot at the end…

We love that so many rules were broken with this shoot…because why should we to play by the rules when it comes to weddings? From the groom attire, the hats, the jewellery and the smoke bombs, every detail is deeply personal and visually showcases how far you can push your wedding day concept to align with your preferences as a couple.

We heart an unconventional wedding.

By far, out favourite aspect of Blaine’s concept is the colour palette; whilst we usually see red tones paired with plums, silvers and greens, we love that the team utilised oranges and yellows to pair with the rusty red of the grooms blazer and the silks of the bouquet. Such a perfect pairing with the surrounding landscape.

Bohemian Mermaid Beach Vibes

Bohemian mermaid beach vibes on the Oregan Coast, with an intimate proposal.

Do you know when something just gives you the feels? You know; the warm and fuzzies, the butterflies in your tum, that pure excitement that makes you want to beam from ear to ear…well, thats how I felt when the wonderful Cindy of Peachy Keen Coordination got in touch with this gorgeous, beachy shoot which gave me ALL the mermaid vibes.

Captured by Amanda Jay Photography in partnership with Jordan & Khrystina Films, the team wanted to collaborate on something capturing the love of a couple so deeply in love that all their needed was them and the Oregon Coast. Brave enough to brace and withstand the weather, the team wanted to bring forward a bit of playfulness and lose the traditional nautical vibes, and instead bring forward a generous amount of colour which you will see in the florals and in the crystal cake crafted  by Next Door Desserts.

“We were also totally enamored by a beach picnic complete with eclectic pieces from Vintage Meets Modern and adorable signage from Letters & Dust encouraging guests to remove their shoes and enjoy the sand between their feet!” Cindy

With two bridal beauty looks pulled together by Kristen Nicole and Romantic Tresses and two opposing fashions, the team wanted to convey the notion that although you may stand side by side in dresses, you can each still have your own unique characteristics for your desired appearance on your wedding day. We LOVE the dresses by Merrime Bride & Soiree and Rent The Runway; both allowing each bride to stay true to their personal style.

Both brides wore beautiful custom created footwear by Brenna Burnett Florals and Pretty Knotted Things, and both brides wore bespoke jewellery provided by Metal & Pebble Jewelry Co. The beautiful forest backdrop was complemented by macrame custom created by Pretty Knotted Things.

Cindy explains that the most unexpected thing happened during shooting, and it was one that moved all of the suppliers in that moment…

“One of our model brides proposed a domestic partnership during the photoshoot. The pause in the modelling vs authentic engagement between the two was very endearing and a special moment for all present.”

How amazing to have bore witness to such a gorgeous, personal moment!

Whilst the photos show an incredible, clear day, shooting wasn’t as easy as it looked. In March, the Oregon coast is really windy, and the day of shooting was particularly chilly. However, Mother Nature was forgiving and allowed the team some beautiful sun, and they could not completely race away from the incoming tide!

“Like true wedding days, you learn how to be creative and think on your feet. Since we had access to a beautiful beach cabin (where the models also got ready) we decided as a team that it was best to relocate as to not watch our beautiful pieces be taken by the ocean.”

Lulworth Cove: A Wild Bride

Stunning, wild shoot on the clifftops of Lulworth Cove. Shearling coat and boots prevail…

When this delicious shoot landed in our inbox, we knew we had to share it with the world. It’s wild, romantic and, well…wild some more! From the flowing dresses, to the abundant flowers, the whole shoot is a perfect juxtaposition between the rugged landscape and the soft, romanticism of the bridal styling. And when something is shot so authentically, it’s hard not to fall in love hard. We could feel the emotion behind the camera and photographer, Elena Popa, tells us more…

“Dorset – and in particular Lulworth cove and the Jurassic Coast – has for a long while held a special place in my heart. Many happy memories stem from this corner of the world, not to mention I am a total sucker for a dramatic coastline, so naturally the day arrived when I decided I just had to shoot there. I’d already sourced a couple of dresses should the occasion arise – and I wanted to keep it quick and simple, so I contacted wonderful model Holly Drinkwater and super talented flower queen Elspeth Louise Flowers who were kind enough to say yes to this adventure.”

Elena’s concept incorporated both her love for the location and her desire for adventurous weddings and elopements to become more of a thing in the UK.

“There’s nothing quite like tying the knot in the midst of an epic landscape like this and I wish UK laws could accommodate this for those who wish to marry in the wild.”

Elena chose two dresses in completely different styles. One, a simple white wrap dress from Asos – the neckline and sleeve combination being incredibly flattering. The other dress was the ethereal dusty pink Supernova gown from Needle and Thread. The look was complemented with a boho white tassel throw, brown shearling jacket and boots.

We are complete suckers for abundant bouquets, and Elena is of the same mind…

“Oversize bouquets are the way to go and Elspeth truly outdid herself with this one – all the while using flowers that were still in season. I absolutely love the flower crown she created, in keeping with the autumnal vibes I was trying to incorporate in the shoot.”

Of course, the biggest concern with the shoot was the unpredictable British weather; but Elena explains that Holly (the model) was such a trooper during the shoot! The wind was fierce but the team spent a good couple of hours shooting on the breathtaking clifftops surrounding Lulworth Cove, before returning to their cars for warmth. The flowers held together remarkably well in the windy conditions too – Elspeth, the florist, must have put them together with magic!

We asked Elena, what her favourite aspect of the shoot was…

‘The simplicity of it – not having to worry about a huge production – and the way all the elements came together to provide the dramatic aesthetic I was striving for”

And we completely agree Elena…you and your team smashed it!
