Warm & Cosy at Slot Doddendael

Full of gorgeous colours, an open fire and beautiful candles, this styled inspiration is warming our cockles!

OK…so the weather here in the UK has taken a real turn for the colder…what is this!! So when this warming, cosy shoot from the Netherlands landed in our inbox, we had to snap it up to help warm our cockles back up!

Full of gorgeous, autumnal colours, an open fire and beautiful candles, this styled inspiration is all that we need right now. The bridal styling is super chic, clean and elegant, and the groom-style is super dapper and bang on trend. From the food to the florals, the furniture to the amazing dessert table, we are salivating beneath our blankets!

“Normally the best time of the year to get marry is late spring and summer. But there is so much prettiness in autumn/winter weddings. Rich colours and the warmth of the fireplace are key ingredients in this styled inspiration. Autumn/winter weddings feel so much more magical, don’t you think?” Nailia, Best Day Ever Events

Enjoy…

Wildly In Love at Lodge Farm

We’re loving the bohemian inspiration behind this gorgeous styled shoot.

As the evenings get lighter and the mornings get brighter, we’re looking ahead to the Spring and Summer. It has been a long,  cold winter, and so seeing warmer, golden tones shine through is a welcome interlude from the dark, wintry months.

Today’s shoot, incorporating lots of beautiful, warming tones, pink and peach hued florals and oodles of greenery is breathing fire into our souls. We’re loving the bohemian inspiration, and the real couple connection between Luke and Tyler. Shot by British Wedding Photographer of The Year 2018, Kelsie Low, at Lodge Farm Barns in Essex, this stunning bohemian behemoth of shoots is sure to win your heart.

As a photographer, Kelsie had steered away form styled shoots for a while, as her style of work is very relaxed, carefree and fun, rather than the posed style we usually see from styled shoots. In planning this activity, Kelsie really wanted to utilise a real couple, so that real couples getting married could really connect with the imagery.

“For me it’s so important to capture the true connection between people and this is what I strive to do in all of the photographs I take” Kelsie

Through the power of Instagram, Kelsie stumbled across Luke and Tyler of The Two Bohemians. A real couple based in Manchester, the pair exuded love and genuine emotion on the day, which made the shoot feel natural and honest, rather than staged.

Kelsie chose The Barns at Lodge Farm as the perfect setting for the shoot; a new, exclusive wedding and events venue, the barns are set in the beautiful Essex countryside, not far from London…but far enough away for you to feel solidly amongst nature.

The venue is a working farm, and has a variety of beautiful spaces to utilise; it really is the perfect venue for a dry-hire wedding – you can really make it your own!

When it came to hair and make up, Kelsie was set on a natural, free-flowing look and sought suppliers she knew would make this happen. Hair So Boho worked on Tylers hair, creating volume and unstructured, beachy blonde waves; the perfect backdrop to the beautiful, minimal and eucalyptus filled flower crown created by Becca of Velvet Rose.

Makeup was kept simple, fresh and bohemian by Beauty by Zoe, who opted for super flawless skin and statement eyes to make Tylers features pop.

Tyler wore a dress by Lucy Can’t Dance kindly lent by Essex-boutique, Rock The Frock Bridal.

Styling and furniture services were provided by Rock The Day and Anthology Vintage hire respectively. Anthology provided their unique reclaimed wood trestle tables, vintage chairs, furniture and props, all of which can be hired for weddings and events. In keeping with the tone, Kelsie and Amy (Anthology) opted for beautiful items which fit the palette of natural tones, including vintage green armchairs and sofa, and Persian rugs.

Laura, Alex and Magda from Rock The Day meticulously dressed the amazing tablescapes with crockery from Harriets Table and items from their own collection including macrame chair backs, table runners, dreamcatchers and their amazing macrame lanterns.

Floral design was provided by the amazing Becca of Velvet Rose Floral Design; a self proclaimed romantic floral-story teller, with a penchant for breaking rules…Becca loves to create amazing florals with a difference, utilising textures and colours to wow with show-stopping blooms.

For this shoot, Becca was inspired by her love for 70s bohemia, and provided a combination of fresh and dried ingredients for the bouquet, flower crown, meadow-style installation and table runners.

Additional styling came from the unique and eye-catching barrel grazer, created by the wondrous Grape & Fig; the UK’s first and finest provider of luxury Australasian-style grazing tables and installations. Toria played with height, and added candles and eucalyptus to her grazer, which was packed with meats, cheeses, fruits, breads and dips.

Lastly, Jenna of Wonderland Invites created beautiful stationery in keeping with the theme and colour palette of the shoot. Her invitation suite was paired with mossy green envelopes and foliage printed silk. The palette was kept neutral, with creamy florals and sage greens to evoke a real natural feel. The standout table plan was created utilising Jenna’s table plan cards, and Rock The Day’s perspex background and easel.

Our Top Boho Trends for 2019

We have collated all of our favourite boho trends for 2019 into one insane list…

We personally cannot wait for 2019; with so many amazing trends which lend themselves so perfectly to bohemian dry-hire and outdoor weddings, couples will be quite literally spoilt for choice. And we cannot wait to see how some of these big-hitting trends fit into people’s special day.

Here at Wed in The Wild, we aim to bring only the best inspiration to you, which is why we have collated all of our favourite trends into one insane top trend list…

Australasian-Style Grazing

Fast becoming a show-stopping feature at weddings and events, Australasian-style grazing is set to grow even more in 2019. Gone are the days of afternoon tea and beige buffets, theses insane works of art add colour, texture and taste to your big day.

G&F2

And whether you want to include an iconic grazer instead of canapés, or have it replace your wedding breakfast or evening banquet, there is only really one company in the UK that you should be contacting…Grape & Fig.

Dried Flowers & Foliage

As much as we love flowers in any form, we are loving the textures that dried flowers bring to the table; especially big palms and grasses. Mix dried flowers with fresh flowers to create a gorgeous contrast, or go all out and utilise just dried flowers in your bouquet, ceremony arch or flower crown.

Be sure to speak to your florist well in advance for the possibilities available to you for your wedding date.

Illustrated Stationery

Some say that stationery is a waste of money, but we beg to differ. It may be paper, but there is a world of opportunity available, especially if you opt for a bespoke design. Illustrated stationery is on the rise as more and more couples understand the importance of a good stationery suite, and how the right design can set the tone for your whole day.

Why not ask your stationer to include an illustration personal to you, like your wedding venue, parts of your decor, a portrait of you both or even a map detailing your wedding day and all it’s little details.

Eco Weddings

In a world which is under threat from pollution and global warming, many couples are interested in how they can ensure their wedding is more eco-friendly and ethical.

There are so many ways you can help; from choosing to hire rather than buy, choosing second hand or reclaimed over new, utilising small businesses over mass-production large-scale companies, utilising bio-degradable cutlery and crockery, and of course, ensuring all waste is recycled at the end of your day.

Anthology Vintage Hire has all the reclaimed/vintage furniture you need for your day.

Statement backdrops

OK, so backdrops aren’t anything new, but over the past couple of years we’ve seen a huge rise in big-ass statement backdrops in bohemian weddings. And this year has seen a sharp incline in wooden and multi-textural backdrops in particular…a trend we see continuing into 2019.

From geometric and tribal patterns, to swathes of hand-dyed linens, tassels, macrame and beading,  make a statement backdrop part of your big day and give your guests an altar to really talk about!

Big Jewellery and Crowns

When we say big…we mean big. Gone are the days of flower crowns…there we said it…statement jewellery is set to be all the range for 2019 and beyond.

From earrings and rings to intricate, mind-blowing crowns, there are some amazing brands, like Verbena Madrid and Opal Milk, which are paving the way for beautiful statement bridal jewellery that is different to the usual stuff you see on ASOS.

Well…it’s Toria’s job to whet your appetite, and it all began with her own wedding back in 2016. A passion project turned fully-fledged business aimed at bringing Australasian-style grazing to the UK, Grape & Fig is the name on everybody’s lips…

We’ve been lucky to have worked with Toria on a number of projects over at Wonderland Invites, and it has been an insane year watching her grow and her business take shape. From weddings and baby showers, to celebrity birthday parties, product launches and corporate dining, Grape & Fig is well and truly making it’s mark on the UK foodie scene.

So, why have a grazer at your wedding?

The answer, of course, is why wouldn’t you? Traditional weddings are becoming a thing of the past as couples embrace new ways of celebrating with their loved ones, and grazing tables are the new buffet. Some would call them show-stoppers, and rightly so, but we would call them a work of art.

Toria meticulously curates her grazing tables for each of her clients, working with them to create the perfect show-stopping piece of edible art for their event. She responsibly and locally sources where possible, and even makes some of the items found on her grazers herself. Additional services such as incorporating foliage adornments and even tablescape styling utilising beautiful luxe props can be added for extra wow factor.

“So, where do I sign?”

The Grape & Fig website is super clear and transparent, and due to the amount of enquiries they receives daily, they are unable to hold dates. So if you are keen and want to book a table of grazer goodness for your wedding, get in touch with Toria and the team now!
