If You Go Down To The Woods Today

This shoot exudes cool…from the bride and groom fashion, to the gorgeous wicker furniture.

Seriously. Cool. Yep. This shoot exudes cool in so many ways…from the bride and groom fashion, to the gorgeous use of bang-on-trend wicker furniture. Oh, and not to mention the beautiful blue-eyed canine companion.

Today’s feature shoot comes in the form of a quaint glamping tale, set in beautiful Cherry Hill Park in Maryland.

“An amazing group of vendors and I came together to create this moody Glamping Boho styled shoot! Our shoot took place in an eco friendly environment in a secluded Glamping location in Maryland. Our trendy bohemian couple was paired with a sweet blue-eyed husky as they shared pizza with each other around our nature inspired tablescape” Jessica, Event Planner

Honestly, we can’t really think of a better way to spend your wedding day than out in nature, round a campfire eating pizza!

Enjoy!

Mustard Toned Greenhouse Shoot

We LOVE a greenhouse wedding. And we adore this beautiful greenhouse shoot from Cologne.

We LOVE a greenhouse shoot. Full stop. The shadows, the texture, the interesting nooks and crannies. So when Isabel Pogscheba got in touch which this super boho, mustard-toned shoot, we simply couldn’t say no.

What we love about our role here at Wed in The Wild is being able to share amazing the talents suppliers with our readers, whether they are in the UK, the US, Australia or Europe…like this incredible team from Cologne, Germany. And it’s always so interesting to see the similarities and differences in interpretation, especially with the boho trend. This shoot definitely hits ‘boho’ nail on head…with a beautiful gown, pretty macrame, abundant tablescape styling, feathers and a chill out area you could happily, well, chill for hours in!

The old, overgrown greenhouse provided the perfect, green backdrop to Isabel’s concept, which involved, as the colour palette, lots of grey, green and mustard tones. What we see from the images is a really fresh, lush shoot with lots of amazing boho inspiration…from the bouquet, to the simple cake, to the gorgeous handmade macrame hangers…one in the perfect mustard shade.

The bouquet, although heavily green with oodles of eucalyptus, monstera and other palm leaves, popped with gorgeously soft yellow roses and other white and golden wildflowers. The bride also wore a matching flower crown, switching to a mossy green-grey hat halfway through the shoot, which perfectly matched the grooms suit.

The team styled a gorgeous little table for two with macrame, napkins and gold accents to mirror those utilised in the flowers and the grooms suit. The couple perched on ivory, macrame poufs set on furs. We adore the skull decorated with succulents; it really adds to the character of the shoot.

The couples stationery included nods to the colour scheme but was kept quite modern and edgy. We love the fonts utilised and the curving, wisping foliage decorating the edges; a perfect fit for this greenhouse setup.

The dress is special, with a gorgeous train, laced up details at the back and graceful trumpet sleeves. The lace is beautifully patterned and it just screams boho! We love it. The grooms style perfectly complements all the elements brought together for this shoot with a taupe-grey suit and mustard bow tie…we love a bow tie.

“The touches of lightness and the unconventional, combined with wild and romantic vibes was particularly important to us and the shoot screams ‘unique'” Isabel

Real Wedding: Shaney & Brant

Shaney & Brant’s wedding incorporated so much attention to detail, set by a log cabin in the woods.

Ever wanted to get married in the woods, surrounded by your family and friends, right by a secluded lakeside log cabin treehouse? If the answer is yes, then today’s real wedding is total goals…and more.

Shaney & Brant’s wedding incorporated so much attention to detail; from the handmade turkey feather bow ties for the boys to the handmade-by-grandma fur bolero for the bride. Captured by Trinity Photography, this delightful wedding in the woods is as wild and as close to nature as they come…

Set on the beautiful Lake Jocassee, South Carolina, Shaney and Brant rented the treehouse setting for both bridal prep and their first night as man and wife. And all the details of their wedding nodded to the natural surroundings in which they had chosen to marry.

“My husband and I have always loved the lake! When I found the awesome venue, The Lost Treehouse of Lake Jocassee, I knew it was just the spot to say “I Do”! The setting and location of the venue was absolutely perfect! I felt that it really represented Brant and I. The secluded, but welcoming, woods with a touch of the lake hidden in between the mountains was the perfect spot for our close friends and family to witness the start of the next chapter of our lives. We opted for a bohemian, rustic woods theme to pull off the entire look. Earthy colors with a pop of color were my go-to! We both grew up in small churches, so our ceremony was very intimate and traditional” Shaney

The couple were married in a traditional ceremony before a constructed log arch, draped in vintage cloth and adorned with foliage and seasonal blooms, and a skull with antlers. Guests were seated on heavy, natural wooden pews, which were decorated with feathers, more flowers and candles on tree stumps; all contributing to the warming, nature-filled theme.

“Every part of my wedding decor was DIY. My mother and I came up with all the ideas of how we wanted the ceremony and reception to look. With the help of friends and family, we were able to make it happen!” Shaney

Spires_Young_TrinityPhotography_DSC4337_big

Spires_Young_TrinityPhotography_DSC4418_big

Spires_Young_TrinityPhotography_DSC4313_big

Shaney and Brant really wanted their day to be personal; they played on this need for super personalisation to make their day as unique and as much ‘them’ as possible.

“It is hard to pick a favorite part about the day. Overall, it was nothing short of what I could have imagined! I loved having our dogs a part of our special day! Our dogs are like our kids, so of course they were in our wedding!” Shaney

The antlers used throughout the day were all from Brant’s families collection, and Shaney’s dad and uncle cut most of the pieces of wood which were used for various focal points. Even the wooden chairs used for the reception were either found or donated by family members. Family members even helped set up tents, decor and picked up food…so the whole day was a real family affair.

Shaney and Brant have such a wonderful back story…friends since children and high school sweethearts, Shaney says they never looked back.  On the eighth year they were together, they got engaged on the lake with their dogs! Brant proposed as they were floating in a boat in the back of a cove around sunset.

Shaney always knew she wanted to have her great-grandmother’s ring incorporated into her own ring, but was completely surprised when she found out that her ring consisted of not only her great-grandmother’s ring, but Brant’s grandmother’s as well!

For the lovely couple, their day turned out just as they had hoped for; surrounded by family and friends, on a day where they had had a hand in every single detail. Indeed, when asked what advice she would give to people planning their own day, she said:

“The best advice I can give to anyone is that it is your wedding and your life! Try to incorporate the things that mean the most to you!” Shaney

Little Lost Cabin in The Woods

There are so many pretty tones in today’s shoot that we’re really gearing up for the warmer months…

There are so many pretty tones in today’s shoot that we’re really gearing up for the warmer months; pinks, lilacs, peaches and even golden tones. Hmm, yes…makes us feel all warm inside.

And the colourful flowers on the sumptuously decked out tablescape aren’t the only things brightening our mood…the ridiculously stunning dress, lacy and complete with gloriously oversized trumpet sleeves, will be sure to fill you all the way up…

Submitted by Elizabeth A Images, the elopement shoot took place in a secluded log cabin in the woods of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. The models, real-life newlyweds, brought a sweet and genuine glow to the day…showing their complete and utterly lost for words love with the team around them.

Soft and warm shades of pink and mustard were the order of the day and the team fulfilled that brief. Flowers by Vintage Soul Floral Design incorporated roses, peonies and lush foliage. Flowers adorned not only the tablescape and the log cabin’s fireplace, but also the models hat in a unique and playful twist on the bridal fedora trend.

All details were paid attention too, from the abundant, graceful and flowing tablescape, to the flatlay for the unique and ingenious wooden stationery which was designed by the super creative Cut Above Stationery Team. We love the use of different wooden textures in the stationery, combined with a pressed fern motif.

And that macrame cake…sheer perfection by The Wow Factor Cakes.

The bridal models makeup was kept simple and natural with only a smattering of pink lipstick and a light dusting of peachy pink colour across her eyelids; working perfectly with both her skin tone and the colour palette for the day. The groom looked dapper in his quirky shirt and on-trend mustard chinos, complete with a wooden textured bolo tie.

We love this playful spin on an elopement shoot…set somewhere really secluded, and featuring all the playful colours of summer.

Literal hats off to a great, creative team!

Snowy Sedona Anniversary Session

A beautiful anniversary shoot, set during Arizona’s biggest blizzard in years.

Sometimes, it’s an unfortunate series of events that brings a shoot to fruition. In todays’ case, photographer Traci Edwards explains the origins behind Amber & Kyle’s snowy anniversary shoot, which took place in Arizona during one of the states biggest blizzards in years.

Traci ran a holiday giveaway to couples in Arizona who had recently gotten married and had a bad experience with their photographer. The prize…for one lucky couple to win a snowy adventure anniversary session with her!

I think we can all agree that the photographing of your wedding day is so important and for Traci, it really breaks her heart when she hear couples say “my photographer never showed up” or “my photographer never sent me the photos” or even “the photos weren’t the quality I saw on their website”.

Arizona Adventure Elopement Photographer

Arizona Adventure Elopement Photographer

Arizona Adventure Elopement Photographer

Arizona Adventure Elopement Photographer

In Amber and Kyle’s case, their photographer had missed many key photos that were really important to them.

“They have been married three years and still hadn’t printed images for their home from the most precious day of their lives together because they didn’t have any that felt like they should displayed on their wall. I am a huge advocate for printing your images and hanging them on your walls! I believe this is important not only because it makes your house feel like a home, but is a constant reminder of the love you share, the life you share together and a reminder to nurture your love” Traci

We couldn’t agree more. And we love the notion behind the competition and how it gives couples that second chance to have images taken of them that they truly love.

“We braved the biggest blizzard Arizona had seen in many years and made to the most romantic winter wonderland imaginable in Sedona. Kyle, a genuine country guy from Idaho, and Amber, a city girl from Phoenix, really have the most amazing love for each other! Just from spending an hour with these two at their anniversary session I gathered that their love is patient, kind, caring and deeply rooted!” Traci

The unique landscape certainly captures your heart and your imagination; what a spectacular backdrop to create some truly magical memories.

We love the beautiful little finishing touches; from the fur bolero Amber wore, to the sweet little vow books the couples read from…

“Kyle and Amber choose to share new vows with each other during the session and also shared a prayer together they had also shared on their wedding day.” Traci

Traci managed to pool together some amazing vendors to help make this couples second chance at their wedding photography come true…I mean, how generous and loving is that?! It is always a great feeling to be able to give something back, and to help give a couple those treasured images.

“Winning this giveaway we were full of emotions… shocked, excited, and anxious all at once. The chance to relive one of the best days of our life was thrilling. Not only did we get to capture updated photos, but we deepened our spoken vows to each other too! The photoshoot was such an adventure. From driving in one of Arizona’s first ‘blizzards’, to frost bitten toes… the experience was priceless. It was a breathtaking Winter Wonderland.

We are so gracious for Traci and the vendors who made this adventure possible. Every detail was uniquely crafted for our love story. We recommend that other couples seek adventures of their own with these wonderful artists.” Amber

Wildly In Love at Lodge Farm

We’re loving the bohemian inspiration behind this gorgeous styled shoot.

As the evenings get lighter and the mornings get brighter, we’re looking ahead to the Spring and Summer. It has been a long,  cold winter, and so seeing warmer, golden tones shine through is a welcome interlude from the dark, wintry months.

Today’s shoot, incorporating lots of beautiful, warming tones, pink and peach hued florals and oodles of greenery is breathing fire into our souls. We’re loving the bohemian inspiration, and the real couple connection between Luke and Tyler. Shot by British Wedding Photographer of The Year 2018, Kelsie Low, at Lodge Farm Barns in Essex, this stunning bohemian behemoth of shoots is sure to win your heart.

As a photographer, Kelsie had steered away form styled shoots for a while, as her style of work is very relaxed, carefree and fun, rather than the posed style we usually see from styled shoots. In planning this activity, Kelsie really wanted to utilise a real couple, so that real couples getting married could really connect with the imagery.

“For me it’s so important to capture the true connection between people and this is what I strive to do in all of the photographs I take” Kelsie

Through the power of Instagram, Kelsie stumbled across Luke and Tyler of The Two Bohemians. A real couple based in Manchester, the pair exuded love and genuine emotion on the day, which made the shoot feel natural and honest, rather than staged.

Kelsie chose The Barns at Lodge Farm as the perfect setting for the shoot; a new, exclusive wedding and events venue, the barns are set in the beautiful Essex countryside, not far from London…but far enough away for you to feel solidly amongst nature.

The venue is a working farm, and has a variety of beautiful spaces to utilise; it really is the perfect venue for a dry-hire wedding – you can really make it your own!

When it came to hair and make up, Kelsie was set on a natural, free-flowing look and sought suppliers she knew would make this happen. Hair So Boho worked on Tylers hair, creating volume and unstructured, beachy blonde waves; the perfect backdrop to the beautiful, minimal and eucalyptus filled flower crown created by Becca of Velvet Rose.

Makeup was kept simple, fresh and bohemian by Beauty by Zoe, who opted for super flawless skin and statement eyes to make Tylers features pop.

Tyler wore a dress by Lucy Can’t Dance kindly lent by Essex-boutique, Rock The Frock Bridal.

Styling and furniture services were provided by Rock The Day and Anthology Vintage hire respectively. Anthology provided their unique reclaimed wood trestle tables, vintage chairs, furniture and props, all of which can be hired for weddings and events. In keeping with the tone, Kelsie and Amy (Anthology) opted for beautiful items which fit the palette of natural tones, including vintage green armchairs and sofa, and Persian rugs.

Laura, Alex and Magda from Rock The Day meticulously dressed the amazing tablescapes with crockery from Harriets Table and items from their own collection including macrame chair backs, table runners, dreamcatchers and their amazing macrame lanterns.

Floral design was provided by the amazing Becca of Velvet Rose Floral Design; a self proclaimed romantic floral-story teller, with a penchant for breaking rules…Becca loves to create amazing florals with a difference, utilising textures and colours to wow with show-stopping blooms.

For this shoot, Becca was inspired by her love for 70s bohemia, and provided a combination of fresh and dried ingredients for the bouquet, flower crown, meadow-style installation and table runners.

Additional styling came from the unique and eye-catching barrel grazer, created by the wondrous Grape & Fig; the UK’s first and finest provider of luxury Australasian-style grazing tables and installations. Toria played with height, and added candles and eucalyptus to her grazer, which was packed with meats, cheeses, fruits, breads and dips.

Lastly, Jenna of Wonderland Invites created beautiful stationery in keeping with the theme and colour palette of the shoot. Her invitation suite was paired with mossy green envelopes and foliage printed silk. The palette was kept neutral, with creamy florals and sage greens to evoke a real natural feel. The standout table plan was created utilising Jenna’s table plan cards, and Rock The Day’s perspex background and easel.

WiTW Hearts…Sift & Gather

The mistress of cakes and all round amazing boss lady of Sift & Gather shares her story…

We are so lucky to be surrounded and advocated by some amazing, gifted suppliers, and we are super thrilled to be able to utilise our platform to showcase their talents, their backstories and their genuine passion for what they do.

As part of our WiTW Hearts feature, we are talking to some of our absolute favourite vendors from across the world; turning the spotlight on them…the ones who go above and beyond to make your day happen in the way you want it to. The people without which this industry would not be at all possible.

Today, we are chatting to the mistress of cakes and all round amazing boss lady, Amber Markland of Sift & Gather. Her story is beautiful and passionate, and I hope you enjoy reading it…

S&G Cover

So tell us Amber, how did you come to be doing what you do?

I didn’t know I loved cake, I was just looking for something I could do with my family to give back to others less fortunate. It changed my life forever. 6 years ago, I became the chapter organizer for a non-profit called “Birthday Cakes 4 Free” in the town of Milton, Massachusetts. I started baking cakes, and my entire family would deliver them with me to children, and seniors that could not afford a cake on their birthday.

Urban Edge Wedding Inspiration

I had know idea how much a cake could impact someone’s life. My children got to experience all the things a parent preaches about, being kind, genuine, respectful, giving, loving, and man did if feel good. From the very first cake that we delivered to a single mom, with 6 kids, on the verge of being homeless… I knew I was doing what I was meant to do. Since then, I have been perfecting my craft and finding a place in the industry that allows me to be uniquely me!

What aspects of weddings do you love the most?

This is easy, I love the LOVE aspect of a wedding the most! Here’s why… 14 years ago, I got married to the love of my life. Sounds amazing right? Well it was not what you see on Wed in the Wild, let me just tell you that. We were stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base in potato country Idaho, in the United States Air Force.  I had a 1 year old on my hip, standing in front of a judge at the local courthouse. No family or friends to witness the once in a lifetime moment, no special vows written from the heart to read to each other, and no wedding rings.

BullCake

Now that I have witnessed and participated in real life weddings and elopements, I can see how special every aspect is to a couple and their loved ones. But the love that radiates between two people is so fulfilling to the soul.  Don’t get me wrong, I also love the design, florals, signage, cake, and all the details that pull it together. But I love the LOVE part of a wedding the most!

ArrowCake

What is your USP? How do you set yourself apart in the market?

It’s ME. I see how people can get caught up in doing what everyone else doing. I try and do the opposite of that! I do what I want…   I look at my business as a reflection of my individuality, it’s authentic to who I am as a human.  My brand is my aura, a beacon of light around me that puts off good vibes only and attracts people that want and need me. I sprinkle that shit in everything I make, along with a whole lot of my heart and soul. That’s what I want people to respond to first, ME, and then scream over how dope their cake looks and tastes!

We really couldn’t agree more…you are your biggest asset!

Feb2018-174

Are you keen to or have plans to launch any other products or services?

Not at this very moment… Right now, I am 100% focused on getting the brick & mortar, Sift & Gather cake studio up and running! Once that happens, you can bet your sweet ass we’re going to turn it up a notch! And don’t be shy about reaching out to me with questions, new ideas, or collaborations.

What do you love most about the wedding industry?

Besides the couples, it’s hands down all the other vendors doin’ the damn thing. I can say, without a doubt I have made friends for life with several of the vendors I’ve worked with over the last year. These people that are pouring their blood, sweat, and tears into the products/services they are creating and providing for the couples we’re all so fortunate to meet is INSANE. I am humbled and honored daily by how lucky I am to be working in an industry that is so inspiring and supportive.

Hail. Amazing, supportive suppliers can make all the difference when you are a solo business owner.

Jenn_Martin_98

Describe your ideal wedding?

My ideal wedding would be a small intimate ceremony, somewhere outside. Warm weather, no shoes, and a wedding dress that hangs off my shoulders and moves with the breeze in the air.  I’d walk down the isle with my 3 children by my side, to music that speaks to the soul.  The seasons most beautiful flowers, and a custom backdrop you’ve never seen before. Vows. Dinner around a gorgeous table setting, food, drinks, and a whole lot of dancing! Ohhh… and a beautiful cake!

Which celebrity wedding style do you love?

I fell in love the very moment I saw the three individual cakes at the Royal wedding this last year.  It was so outside the box from what the past royal wedding cakes have ever been, and man did they make a statement. Simple, sophisticated, elegant, each one unique but still complimenting the others, and completely edible!

We agree…Meghan & Harry struck so many perfect chords!

SamandSola_RockandStone(70)

What do you think is the biggest issue in the wedding industry?

Not giving credit, when credit is due. Sometimes the importance of a vendor’s role, gets minimized next to all the other important parts of a wedding. In my eyes, there is not one aspect of a wedding provided by a vendor that is not just as important as the next. The wedding comes together via a collective of talented, hardworking, worthy humans.  There is no i in TEAM, you know what I’m sayin!

We really do. Crediting is vastly important!

And finally, lovely lady, what does love mean to you…

Love to me is nourishment to the mind, body, and soul. It’s a feeling that feels so good, it almost hurts. Love is compassion and compromise. Love to me means, you can put your heart in someone else’s hands and know that they will hold it gently and protect it.  To me, love is something you give and receive. An explosion inside your chest when you look into the eyes of your children. An ache when you’ve become disconnected and distant from love you once had. Love to me means being gentle and kind. Love is loving yourself and all that you have to offer the world.

Love is CAKE!

Sweet Love at Maple Bay Manor

Love is in the air…yes, it’s Valentines Day, but this shoot has not a cliche in sight!

Love is officially in the air…yes, it’s Valentines Day. And whether you’re celebrating Valentines, Galentines or Palentines this year, we have a straight up, ‘classy with a twist’ love-fest to share with you today. Think bold reds and rich, sickly sweet desserts. Think hearts and roses but not as you know them…

Submitted by awesome planner Kim of Borrowed & Blue Events, this wonderfully emotive shoot held at Maple Bay Manor in Canada is giving us all the feels of the loving season.

“We wanted to create a Valentine’s based shoot that was different; something romantic but boasted elegance. We decided to go for a deeper red mood board with soft touches which I think helped create something unique. The dress used is a locally custom made dress along side the jewellery which is also locally and custom made by Emma Glover Designs” Kim

I think thats the tough thing about Valentines…i.e. not creating something which is totally and utterly cliche, or has been done before. This team brought a vision to the table, and executed every inch of the shoot with respect and finesse, which means the overall tone looks and feels very mature, elegant and refined, rather than garish, in-your-face Valentines day.

From the textual bouquet, featuring anthurium and amaranthus, to the cake and desserts which included gentle nods to the shoot theme, the finer details of this beautiful shoot really help to create a story and a build up to seeing the models appear.

“The biggest challenge for this shoot was gathering our vendors so close after Christmas had ended. We actually changed the date to push it later in the month of January to accommodate how busy everyone has been. “ Kim

The bridal look focuses on elegance and pure, simple beauty; natural makeup with pops of browns to complement the brides lovely complexion, and a relaxed yet structured hair style dotted with pretty little red roses to finish.

The groom, looking smart in his dark grey suit and pale grey tie, added a pop of colour with his boutonniere; while simple, included nods to the stunning bridal bouquet, with hits of red and green.

The real standout of the shoot was the striking foliage filled heart arch…masterfully built with long, trailing ends, under which the couple exchanged rings and spoke their vows. Set against a stunning view for a backdrop, the couple in their beautiful attire were romantically framed by the unique heart arch concept…a total winner in our minds.

“The arch absolutely surpassed all expectations I had. Taylor, the photographer had approached me about doing a Valentines based shoot and had sent me over an image of this heart shaped arch. I showed it to my husband who decided he could make it out of rebar and Calvin at Pacific Coast Metal Craft could weld it together for us. When he brought it home I was blown away, but once we set it on the dock at Maple Bay Manor and Annise from Bespoke Blossoms added the greenery it was easily the strongest and most original part of our shoot” Kim

Hats off to an incredible team, who managed to create such a perfect and tasteful ode to Valentines Day.

Wild Lakeside Engagement in NY

Shot in the Adirondack Mountains, today’s engagement session is both whimsical and romantic.

Sometimes it’s really nice to showcase a different side of the wedding process…and engagement shoots are the perfect way to do that. Shot in the Adirondack Mountains in Schroon Lake, NY, today’s engagement session is both visual perfection and pure romanticism.

Submitted by Kortni of Kortni Maria Photography, and combining a wonderfully talented team, we are loving the whimsical and wild nature of this perfect boho, outdoorsy session. ..jam-packed full of beautiful blooms and pure, intimate moments.

It’s everything an engagement session should be, so pin to your hearts content!

Kortni had hosted a few styled shoot events in 2018 for photographers in the area to come shoot at, this being one of them; the perfect way to help photographers meet vendors and other photographers in the area in order to gain portfolio-worthy content and get creative with no pressure.

“They also serve to help people learn how I interact with and shoot my couples” Kortni

Such a great idea. We’re loving how suppliers are getting involved with organising larger scale shoots where a bigger team of vendors/suppliers and photographers can come together with the purpose of widening their portfolios. So many people benefit from the process.

“I organised two other other styled shoots before ending 2018 with this one. I styled this shoot to be summery and beachy-romantic. I pulled some ideas off Pinterest, made a mood board and then sent this off to all the vendors. Together we all worked hard to make this happen and I’m am so happy with how it turned out!” Kortni

Agreed. From the boat overflowing with draping blooms and greenery to the whimsical, peachy and dusty blue tablescape, with all the perfect and intricate finishing touches…so much thought has gone into this concept and so much detail has been constructed.

We love the models, Jess and Andy, and have featured them on the blog before – showcasing the love between a real couple, whether on a styled shoot or as part of a real wedding or engagement session is always an honour and a pleasure.  Theres a connection which just cannot be ignored.

As with all shoots, real weddings or elopements, there is an element of struggle. Whether it be the weather, or natural elements, or even a supplier being unable to make it. Kortni explains what didn’t quite go to plan behind the scenes…

“Carrying all the decor down to the beach was a lot more work than we thought it was going to be. It took us over ten trips back and forth, up and down stairs to get everything in place. Also, the canoe with all the florals on it had a small leak so we kept getting water in the canoe during the shoot!” Kortni

But it all worked out…

“Even though it was a workshop shoot, there wasn’t a ton of photographers, which made it more relaxed and intimate feeling. You could tell that everyone was having a lot of fun.” Kortni

A Textural Dream at Sennowe Park

Today’s shoot focused on stunning florals, unique gowns and unparalleled bridal beauty.

There is so much I love about this shoot we have on the blog today; from the beautifully diverse models, to the layers and layers of pampas grass and wonderful floral installations. Also really crushing on how this team brought an air of boho plentifulness to the stately home setting of Sennowe Park. Not always an easy feat.

Through the use of texture, abundant blooms and festival-inspired hair, the suppliers banded together to bring a touch of the wild to the outside-in conservatory space at Sennowe; a stately home built for the now famous Thomas Cook family.

Led by Norfolk-based photographer, Sophie Cass, the shoot focused on stunning florals, unique gowns and unparalleled bridal beauty.

The gorgeous Winter Garden and surrounding grounds of Sennowe Park were the backdrop to the autumnal floral arrangements by Amber’s Rose Florist, including a free-standing pampas grass hoop, suspended pampas grass table decorations, intricate bridal bouquets and flower crowns. We are loving how no expense was spared with the floristry on this shoot…each and every installation was jam packed full of blooms, grass and foliage to create stunning, abundant seasonal displays.

Setting the scene were Little Jem Weddings, who decorated the venue and created a tablescape filled with flowers, flowing fabrics, candles and rustic details such as vintage crockery and wooden boxes. Using two characteristic cakes by Love Weddings Cakes, which drew on the marble stonework of the venue in dusky pink hues, an upcycled dresser was placed outside and decorated with flowers and ribbons against the landscape of the venue’s sprawling grounds.

Stationery, including invitations, menus and beautifully-adorned envelopes, was provided by Little Pea Designs and photographed upon the dining table and amid a flatlay inspired by the colours and flowers of the day.

The dresses, loaned by White Reflections Bridal in Norwich, were from designers Yolan Cris and Rembo Styling, and offered a combination of discerning grace and modern sophistication. From the boho-esque crocheting of Rembo Styling to the detailed lace embellishments and figure-hugging silhouettes of Yolan Cris, the gowns, modelled by Amber Burton and Bethany Tooke, were central to the contemporary yet traditional tones of the photoshoot.

To tie the photoshoot together, Brooke Thompson of Boho Beauty Box in Norwich provided hair and make-up for the two models. The darker tones of Amber’s hair and skin tone were used to create a smoky bronze look with golden eyes and dark pink lips, while her long hair was styled into a graceful updo with twists and plaits. Bethany’s pale skin played host to more autumnal tones, with rose gold eyes and pale pink lips, and her flowing red hair was teased into a unique ponytail.

You can feel the love on this shoot. Sophie talks so fondly of all the suppliers who worked together to make this boho dream a reality…

“I absolutely loved every supplier that was involved in this shoot. I’d worked with a couple of people before, while others were totally new faces. It was so wonderful to have the opportunity to work with some of the most talented suppliers across Norfolk and Suffolk, bringing together everybody’s creativity. Sophie
