The Runaways…

All the feels for Arizona, Route 66 and The Killers, in the middle of the Essex countryside.

We have an awesome shoot for you today, inspired by The Killers, Route 66 and Arizona…quite literally some of our favourite things! The colours, the detail and the models are all just completely stunning…and definitely bring a gorgeous tribute to the Arizona desert to Essex, UK.

Caroline, the photographer, explains her reasoning behind the shoot, and why it was important to utilise the references she did…

“A few years ago, driving through the Arizona desert on Route 66, a shoot idea began to form in my head. It was largely inspired by The Killer’s song ‘Runaways’: I pictured newly-weds driving out into the sunset across the desert, ready to start a new adventure together. I’ve always loved tribal and native American influences and these drove the style for the shoot. I really wanted to create a feeling of an exciting, nomadic fresh start and a couple ready for their next free spirited adventure.” Caroline

The Venue

Caroline held the shoot at the Barns at Lodge Farm; a venue local to her in the Essex countryside. It’s rare you find somewhere local,  sustainable and so beautiful with all the rustic vibes and an awesome blank canvas to create exactly what you want…

“Obviously being in the UK and not the desert, we drew in some english influences from the location. With the combination of rustic barns, industrial style grain stores and hay stacks, Lodge Farm kept the original influences while adding an interesting range of backdrops.” Caroline

Amy from Anthology Vintage Hire did an incredible job of bringing Caroline’s ideas to life. She sourced an amazing collection of tribal soft furnishings, a low dining table setup and beautiful ceremony area with a wooden arch and peacock chairs. Vanderhume and Bohotanical also added some finishing touches, such as the handmade hanging on the arch (Vanderhume) and a huge macrame hanging as a backdrop (Bohotanical).

Flowers

“For this shoot I really wanted to use sustainable suppliers and Bohotanical was the perfect choice. With her range of faux flowers we could create the perfect florals whilst not needing any new stock. We opted for dried flowers and pampas to add interesting texture. Pampas are so versatile and blended in with the colour palette in such a beautiful way.” Caroline

Models & Hair/Makeup

Caroline had worked with Katie before and knew her look would be perfect for this shoot. Katie brought along her friend Claire to shoot with.

“I absolutely love when friends model together as it means you get real connection and joy in the photos. I am in love with the fierce, feminist vibes from our models.” Caroline

Lauren Siddons was on hand for hair & makeup – she was so enthusiastic about the shoot and came up with super creative looks for both the models. We absolutely adore the way she styled Claire’s hair with braids and hoops – it looks so fierce and unique. For Katie, Lauren opted for dark, smoky makeup to work alongside her hat and accessories, whereas Claire’s was a more subtle look to go with her eye catching hair and large earrings by Vanderhume.

Aneberry Bridal provided two incredible dresses for this shoot. Caroline opted for two different styles: Claire wore an effortless and elegant dress with a short train, while Katie wore a bohemian lace dress. We love the slit at the front and little lace details around the shoulders and chest.

Finishing Touches

Wonderland Invites was Caroline’s only choice for this shoot. Jenna created a bespoke suite of stationery with a rusty colour palette, tassels, dreamcatchers and tribal skulls, perfectly in keeping with the tone of the day.

Keeping with the sustainable requirements, Cakes and Leaves provided a vegan three tier lemon and poppy seed cake which went down a treat with the team! We absolutely love the shots at the dining area cutting in to the cake – it’s a rarity to see.

Caroline stumbled across Denim & Bone on Instagram a few months ago and approached the team there straight away about featuring a jacket. Inspired by her travels, Denim & Bone’s jackets stand out as boho treasures evoking a wild and fearless feeling. Her ‘Formally Wild’ leather sat so beautifully with the overall vibe of the shoot and complimented the other bridal accessories wonderfully.

The Car

The whole premise of this shoot centered on a road trip. To add the English flare, Buttercup Bus took part with beautiful Pushka the Camper! The 1972 babe was the perfect colour fit and totally brought the adventurous and nomadic side to the concept.

Amber Tones on The Wild Coast

A gorgeous shoot taking inspiration from the cliffs of Ness Cove, Devon.

What a beaut shoot we have in store for you today, incorporating the creative talents of some literal behemoths of the UK wedding industry scene. And having followed the work of Devon-based Brummie, Nikki Sherriff (of styling and stationery powerhouse Knots & Kisses) for years now, we are so honoured that she chose to submit this perfectly curated, and unique session to Wed in The Wild.

Working with a gorgeous palette of tans, mustards and amber tones, juxtaposed with vibrant, luscious greens, this bridal inspiration is truly one of a kind; the coming together of exceptional creatives, masterminded by Nikki, and offering breathtaking results.

“Living in Devon gives you the wonderful opportunity to explore its gorgeous coastline. I wanted to explore shooting in some of Devon’s wonderful outdoor landscapes and to take advantage of the gorgeous red cliffs in coves along the coast between Exeter and Torquay. Ness Cove proved the perfect spot … despite the many steps up and down to the beach with all our props!” Nikki

The inspiration came from the red and burnt orange colours within the landscape itself; Nikki wanted to create a coastal shoot which wasn’t the typical blue and green colour palette, but instead took inspiration from the cliffs and the natural landscape. And boy did that come together…

We’re massive fans of Mia Sylvia’s work…and Nikki approached her to use dresses from her natural-dyed reclaimed collection. Tonally, they worked perfectly, and fit the colour palette to a tee. Nikki also chose to utilise dresses from Poppy Perspective; another independent designer who specialises in bohemian, free-flowing dresses.

“Using natural materials such as linens, weathered wood and feathers was really important” Nikki

We are also majorly swooning over the brown, tasseled jacket…

Florsits, Brompton Buds really went there with the floral arrangements…mixing wild foliage textures and gorgeous florals to create the most stunning asymmetric floral arrangements, which worked perfectly on the triangular ceremony backdrop frame which is now available to hire from Knots & Kisses. The bridal bouquet combined the same textures, and loose buds and foliage were used to adorn a beautiful ring flatlay.

“We wanted to show how amazing an outdoor wedding in the UK could be. Devon is an amazing location and has some wonderful settings for a Humanist ceremony or vow renewal especially … and there are some gorgeous hotels and accommodation close by to spend your first evening as a married couple.” Nikki

Indeed, photographer Maxi Photography captured the stunning dramatic skies and coastline showcasing just how amazing an outdoor wedding could be.

Are you gasping yet?

We did when we first saw the gallery…those feathers!

The look for the model, red haired of course to compliment the colour palette, was dramatic and bohemian. The team wanted to create a strong editorial look with dark eyes and make up, beautiful braids and incorporating the most stunning amber feather headdress created by the ever-talented Janie at The Lucky Sixpence. Emma Roberts, Giselle Michel-Gendre & Hair by Corinne worked together to create a dramatic look.

The concept for the tablescape was to create a glamorous beach picnic with low tables and Moroccan style seating and rugs, hired from Virginias Vintage Hire.

“I wanted to keep an almost traditional style table setting with beautiful linens from Beyond Vintage, and tall tapered candles. I also utilised accessories from Keeping It Vintage, and included accents of natural agate and amber” Nikki

We absolutely adore the abundant tablescape, and love how Nikki used oodles of natural textures and elements to create it. So striking, and the colours are so reminiscent of the cliffside location of the shoot.

A cake inspired by feathers, and in a striking mustard tone, from Claire’s Sweet Temptations and beautiful hammered silver jewellery by Nikki Stark finished the look.

Wildly In Love at Lodge Farm

We’re loving the bohemian inspiration behind this gorgeous styled shoot.

As the evenings get lighter and the mornings get brighter, we’re looking ahead to the Spring and Summer. It has been a long,  cold winter, and so seeing warmer, golden tones shine through is a welcome interlude from the dark, wintry months.

Today’s shoot, incorporating lots of beautiful, warming tones, pink and peach hued florals and oodles of greenery is breathing fire into our souls. We’re loving the bohemian inspiration, and the real couple connection between Luke and Tyler. Shot by British Wedding Photographer of The Year 2018, Kelsie Low, at Lodge Farm Barns in Essex, this stunning bohemian behemoth of shoots is sure to win your heart.

As a photographer, Kelsie had steered away form styled shoots for a while, as her style of work is very relaxed, carefree and fun, rather than the posed style we usually see from styled shoots. In planning this activity, Kelsie really wanted to utilise a real couple, so that real couples getting married could really connect with the imagery.

“For me it’s so important to capture the true connection between people and this is what I strive to do in all of the photographs I take” Kelsie

Through the power of Instagram, Kelsie stumbled across Luke and Tyler of The Two Bohemians. A real couple based in Manchester, the pair exuded love and genuine emotion on the day, which made the shoot feel natural and honest, rather than staged.

Kelsie chose The Barns at Lodge Farm as the perfect setting for the shoot; a new, exclusive wedding and events venue, the barns are set in the beautiful Essex countryside, not far from London…but far enough away for you to feel solidly amongst nature.

The venue is a working farm, and has a variety of beautiful spaces to utilise; it really is the perfect venue for a dry-hire wedding – you can really make it your own!

When it came to hair and make up, Kelsie was set on a natural, free-flowing look and sought suppliers she knew would make this happen. Hair So Boho worked on Tylers hair, creating volume and unstructured, beachy blonde waves; the perfect backdrop to the beautiful, minimal and eucalyptus filled flower crown created by Becca of Velvet Rose.

Makeup was kept simple, fresh and bohemian by Beauty by Zoe, who opted for super flawless skin and statement eyes to make Tylers features pop.

Tyler wore a dress by Lucy Can’t Dance kindly lent by Essex-boutique, Rock The Frock Bridal.

Styling and furniture services were provided by Rock The Day and Anthology Vintage hire respectively. Anthology provided their unique reclaimed wood trestle tables, vintage chairs, furniture and props, all of which can be hired for weddings and events. In keeping with the tone, Kelsie and Amy (Anthology) opted for beautiful items which fit the palette of natural tones, including vintage green armchairs and sofa, and Persian rugs.

Laura, Alex and Magda from Rock The Day meticulously dressed the amazing tablescapes with crockery from Harriets Table and items from their own collection including macrame chair backs, table runners, dreamcatchers and their amazing macrame lanterns.

Floral design was provided by the amazing Becca of Velvet Rose Floral Design; a self proclaimed romantic floral-story teller, with a penchant for breaking rules…Becca loves to create amazing florals with a difference, utilising textures and colours to wow with show-stopping blooms.

For this shoot, Becca was inspired by her love for 70s bohemia, and provided a combination of fresh and dried ingredients for the bouquet, flower crown, meadow-style installation and table runners.

Additional styling came from the unique and eye-catching barrel grazer, created by the wondrous Grape & Fig; the UK’s first and finest provider of luxury Australasian-style grazing tables and installations. Toria played with height, and added candles and eucalyptus to her grazer, which was packed with meats, cheeses, fruits, breads and dips.

Lastly, Jenna of Wonderland Invites created beautiful stationery in keeping with the theme and colour palette of the shoot. Her invitation suite was paired with mossy green envelopes and foliage printed silk. The palette was kept neutral, with creamy florals and sage greens to evoke a real natural feel. The standout table plan was created utilising Jenna’s table plan cards, and Rock The Day’s perspex background and easel.

Orange Glow and Warming Vibes

With pops of red and orange, this wedding inspiration shoot is packed full of warming glow.

We’re battling colds over here, but this styled shoot is warming our bones RIGHT up…with pops of fiery red and orange, and a warm sunset glow to die for, this gorgeous wedding inspiration shoot is packed full of warm and inviting glow.

Conceptualised and submitted by photographer Koyahni Collins and coordinated by Kim Solecki of Borrowed & Blue Events, there are so many striking aspects of this shoot…from the florals by Bespoke Blossoms to the stunning pearl headpiece created by Emma Glover, and not forgetting the dress lent by Blush Bridal.

“The wedding season begins to slow down in October here and yet the colours of fall are in their most vibrant glory. As an artist I felt drawn to capture the beauty of these colours as a wedding pallet; the sun against the moody tones of autumn combined with real romance. Leaves like sunset, skies crisp and clear, wild love. Let’s inspire more couples to get married here during autumn and even winter! A way to stay inspired myself after a busy summer season and refresh my creativity. With the help of an amazing group of creatives this cooler weathered, modern-bohemian, love story came to life.” Koyahni

And boy did it come to life.

We’re not sure what our favourite part of this shoot was…it’s all so beautiful and visually entrancing. But quite possibly it’s the juxtaposition of the elaborate lace train of the dress, set against the rustic fields…who says you can’t have an all out glam dress and still be a rustic, knees up kinda bride!

And we have to show some love to the men too…the male model’s suit had just the right amount of boho running through it with the tweed waistcoat and the fedora hat. An awesome contrast to the brides super feminine look. But hey, it totally works!

“I came up with the idea and the theme for this styled elopement in the early days of FallI designed each look and chose the location, story and style.” Kohayni

After reaching out to some fabulous suppliers she had already worked with, Koyanhi took on Kim Solecki to help coordinate the remaining vendors and to organise the details. We love Kim; she knows her stuff and can really bring a sense of industry knowledge and understanding to a shoot or a real wedding.

“Everyone seemed really on board with the vision and I appreciated that. I sent out a mood/inspo board to the team and everyone was inspired from there. I think I can speak for everyone in saying styled shoots are really just our chance to play and have some creative fun. However, coordinating these styled shoots is time consuming. The inspiration is the easy part! Kimberly was a great asset, with lots of connections.” Kohayni

Hear, hear…we know exactly how time consuming they can be!

Kohayni and Kim managed to pull together a first class team who understood the brief perfectly. From the florist Bespoke Blossoms, to Emma Glover whose jewellery designs were utilised. Even down to the models…Kendra, the female model, is a friend of Kohayni’s and great to work with, so when the team reached out to her, she was down to be apart of the shoot. Kim led Kohanni to Justin the male model, someone she’d never worked with but who fit the look she was searching for.

The shoot date shifted around a bit because of bad weather which was a challenge. However, in the end, it all came together though and everyone was very professional and played their role beautifully.

“We are all friends, and in this relatively small community it’s fun once in a while to get together and be creative for ourselves.” Kohayni

We’re Wildly In Love, Regardless…

Inclusive, diverse shoot showcasing four real couples and exquisite styling.

It feels very poignant to be posting this beautiful shoot. Each and every single day, across the world, people are struggling to live their lives in peace and harmony. There is a struggle occurring in every corner of this beautiful earth. Whether it be amongst people of colour or within the LGBTQ community, with those suffering with disabilities or those who don’t fit our outdated beauty standards; every day, people are fighting for the simplest of rights. The struggles are prevalent, real and strong.

Indeed, within the wedding industry, there is a huge disconnect. A disconnect between the typical bridal beauty standard which is quite literally everywhere in wedding media, and what actual, real live couples look like.

Here at Wed in The Wild, we show no prejudice. We want to show real people that they are catered for. We want to showcase diverse and inclusive weddings. Not just to tick a box to say, “yep, that’s covered’ but because real people need to feel inspired by people and models who don’t just appeal to one kind of bride.

When Amber from our beloved Rock & Stone Weddings got in touch this week, following the UK Bride fiasco, we knew we had to showcase this amazing display which celebrates diversity and showcases inclusivity. Amber explains the premise of the shoot:

“It all started back in April when I discovered that a local registry we’d paid to join, who claimed to help link people looking for a unique, modern and creative wedding, with vendors who match that aesthetic, had some dubious views about working with the LGBTQ+ community. In their words ‘we have members who choose not to and we completely respect that’. Not wanting to associate with a group who felt it was ok to respect that, I immediately left the directory and speaking about the experience on Instagram opened up a valuable discussion. Not just about the treatment of the LGBTQ+ community in the wedding industry, but also anyone who isn’t white and a size 0 with long flowing locks! It seemed that actually, there were a whole lot of people feeling frustrated about a lack of representation. So many photographers said that they wanted to be able to show more diversity in their portfolios but they just didn’t have a very diverse client base contacting them.” Amber

Shootout_376

Amber knew a lot of photographers and vendors who wanted to showcase diversity in their portfolios and so she began planning a mass shootout. She wanted to bring together an epic and beautiful shoot which would allow photographers to come and capture tonnes of great content in order to diversify their portfolio and help them attract more of their ideal clients.

When Amber got in touch, we squealed. We had seen a couple of the images from the shootout floating around on social media, but hadn’t connected that it was a large-scale project with the four sets of beautiful couples. It was perfect timing, as we had been speaking out a lot on out Instagram about diversity and inclusivity in the wedding industry.

Shootout_330

Ambers’ concept for the shoot was based on the Mediterranean; four distinct areas that all played homage to different areas of the Med, which were all cohesive enough to work together…each area and palette feeling like an evolution of the one before.

The shootout was attended by multiple photographers but the images you see here were captured by one of our absolute faves, Kendra K. Kendra has an amazing eye and creates beautiful, flowing magic with her style of shooting. The perfect choice for this romantic and multi-faceted project.

All that was missing, in Amber’s eyes, was a male/male couple…”we really wanted to find a male couple too but just no volunteers“. So if you’re reading this and either are, or know someone that might be interested in the future, then feel free to contact Amber if you are based in the states!

We’re absolutely bowled over by the creativity and romantic elegance of this beautiful shootout. From the styling of the couples, all paying homage to their personalities, to the abundance of gorgeous florals, decor and venue styling. We love the transition from the beginning of the shoot…the step up in colour and vibrancy as the shoot takes shape, and the sheer magic in the photography.

What an amazing concept and with a heartfelt, authentic meaning behind it. We hope that the incredible work of Amber, Kendra and the rest of the team gives every day people who are planning their weddings the courage and the assurance that there is change afoot and there are vendors out there who respect and want to work with all couples regardless of their gender, size, age, sexuality, race or religion.

A 70s Inspired Windmill Wedding

We’re feeling all nostalgic, with this beautiful and colourful 1970s inspired shoot from Italy.

We’re feeling all nostalgic on the blog today, with this beautiful, colourful 1970s inspired shoot from the gorgeous Piedmont region in Italy. Conceptualised by Federica Cosentino, we’re loving the pops of colour, the little details and of course, the beautiful, standout windmill venue!

An uncommon feature of the landscape in Italy, this shoot is truly the result of an incredible team effort on a day where the elements forced the suppliers to stretch their creative capacities. With an aim to represent a not-so-common location for a marriage in Italy, Federica explains her inspiration for the shoot…

“It is rare to find a windmill in the north of Italy and when I first saw this one, I imagined hundreds of coloured flags flying through the air. and a girl with her hair in the wind and pinwheels in her hands”

001-STYLEDSHOOT-70sWedding

013-STYLEDSHOOT-70sWedding

021-STYLEDSHOOT-70sWedding

The 70’s colour palette, with pops of tan, orange and blue, is as unusual as the venue, but works beautifully with the features of the surroundings; the orange doors, of the windmill and the blue of the sky.

The stunning wedding dress by Maura Brandino, composed of tulle and flowered lace, has a slightly peachy pink hue. The bridal look was complemented by pretty flowers in the models hair, and beautiful coloured make-up by Rosanna Curci…all contributing to a real flower child look. The groom was dressed in a tan suit, a perfect nod to the 70s era.

We love how flowers have taken a centre stage in this pretty, dainty shoot…from the bouquet and tables cape flowers to the delicate floral rings and flower-heads littering the handmade backdrop for the ceremony area. Biancospino, the florist, chose flowers with meaning…blue hydrangeas representing the start of a love story and freesias for lasting friendship.

“We set up the tablescape in front of the wind mill, using a white tablecloth runner decorated with flowers. The chairs had handmade cerulean seat cushions which added to the colourful aesthetic of the shoot” Federica

The styling team utilised vintage plates with a cerulean pattern, which fit perfectly with the colour scheme of the shoot.

The weather proved tricky for the team; the say was changeable, with the weather flitting from sunny, to rainy, with a constant wind which meant that all hands were on deck to keep the backdrop and the handmade flags from blowing away. The team had to disassemble the installations several times to prevent them from flying away or getting wet.

Additionally, the road to the windmill is entirely impervious making it really challenging to transport all the installations there.

However, the photographer Miriam Callegari, and videographer, Piero Carchedi, worked really hard alongside all the suppliers to ensure that what was captured on camera truly showcased then hard work of the entire team.

What is amazing is that  no matter where you are in the world, there is bound to be a team of exceptional creatives who can help you to conceptualise and execute the day of your dreams.

Inspired by Nature, Lasts a Lifetime…

From the bouquet and buttonhole, to the amazing half-moon installation…all of the flowers on this styled shoot are handmade.

Looking at the featured images, would you guess that none of flowers and vines are real? Nope, neither did we. But they are all artificial! From the bouquet and buttonhole, to the amazing half-moon installation…all of the flowers on this styled shoot are handmade.

Emily, of Faux Bloom, submitted this beautiful, dreamy shoot which showcases her amazing work. Artificial flowers have improved not only in the quality but in the artistry & materials used, and Emily’s aim for this shoot was to prove just how beautiful artificial flowers can look.

Faux Bloom-67

Faux Bloom-74

Faux Bloom-60

Emily explains that her clients choose faux for many different reasons; allergies, destination weddings & the fact that they can be prepared weeks in advance. However for the majority of couples, it’s because they want floral glamour & unique creations without the price tag.

“Large arrangements/ displays made with fresh flowers would understandably be a blow to even a healthy budget. Our hire options gives our clients choice & the chance to be really creative styling their chosen venue”.

Faux Bloom-29

Faux Bloom-35

Faux Bloom-48

Faux Bloom-62

For this shoot, Emily wanted to use only local suppliers, creating a new network of wedding industry professionals within our area.

“Client satisfaction is everything & I really enjoy being able to pass on company details that I trust to provide a great service.”

We couldn’t agree more…networking is massively important!

We asked Emily what the challenges were behind this shoot…we only ever see the perfect, finished images. But every shoot has its challenges…

‘We relied on the weather, and there was no plan b for this one! We had torrential rain the day before & also the day after but thankfully it was a glorious afternoon which gave way to a perfect sunset for the shoot.”

Faux Bloom-49

Faux Bloom-45

Faux Bloom-26

‘Inspired by nature, lasts a lifetime’…those words certainly ring true. If you are looking for beautiful flowers for your wedding, but are working to a smaller flower budget, then artificial flowers are a great compromise…especially when they look this good.

And to leave you with a parting comment…Emily’s favourite aspect of the shoot was…

“the relaxed & friendly atmosphere from start to finish. So many talented people behind the scenes worked extremely hard making this shoot a success.”

Bohemian Mermaid Beach Vibes

Bohemian mermaid beach vibes on the Oregan Coast, with an intimate proposal.

Do you know when something just gives you the feels? You know; the warm and fuzzies, the butterflies in your tum, that pure excitement that makes you want to beam from ear to ear…well, thats how I felt when the wonderful Cindy of Peachy Keen Coordination got in touch with this gorgeous, beachy shoot which gave me ALL the mermaid vibes.

Captured by Amanda Jay Photography in partnership with Jordan & Khrystina Films, the team wanted to collaborate on something capturing the love of a couple so deeply in love that all their needed was them and the Oregon Coast. Brave enough to brace and withstand the weather, the team wanted to bring forward a bit of playfulness and lose the traditional nautical vibes, and instead bring forward a generous amount of colour which you will see in the florals and in the crystal cake crafted  by Next Door Desserts.

“We were also totally enamored by a beach picnic complete with eclectic pieces from Vintage Meets Modern and adorable signage from Letters & Dust encouraging guests to remove their shoes and enjoy the sand between their feet!” Cindy

With two bridal beauty looks pulled together by Kristen Nicole and Romantic Tresses and two opposing fashions, the team wanted to convey the notion that although you may stand side by side in dresses, you can each still have your own unique characteristics for your desired appearance on your wedding day. We LOVE the dresses by Merrime Bride & Soiree and Rent The Runway; both allowing each bride to stay true to their personal style.

Both brides wore beautiful custom created footwear by Brenna Burnett Florals and Pretty Knotted Things, and both brides wore bespoke jewellery provided by Metal & Pebble Jewelry Co. The beautiful forest backdrop was complemented by macrame custom created by Pretty Knotted Things.

Cindy explains that the most unexpected thing happened during shooting, and it was one that moved all of the suppliers in that moment…

“One of our model brides proposed a domestic partnership during the photoshoot. The pause in the modelling vs authentic engagement between the two was very endearing and a special moment for all present.”

How amazing to have bore witness to such a gorgeous, personal moment!

Whilst the photos show an incredible, clear day, shooting wasn’t as easy as it looked. In March, the Oregon coast is really windy, and the day of shooting was particularly chilly. However, Mother Nature was forgiving and allowed the team some beautiful sun, and they could not completely race away from the incoming tide!

“Like true wedding days, you learn how to be creative and think on your feet. Since we had access to a beautiful beach cabin (where the models also got ready) we decided as a team that it was best to relocate as to not watch our beautiful pieces be taken by the ocean.”

Moody Bohemia at Manchester Park

This modern, bohemian take on bridal styling is both achingly beautiful and heartwarmingly cosy.

If you are feeling the change in the weather and are reaching for another sip of that pumpkin spice latte whilst secretly jamming to Christmas tunes (its never too early right?), then this warming, deep-toned shoot will be right up your alley.

Featuring some incredible talent, including Marnie Cornell, Grace Loves Lace and one of our faves, Rock & Stone Weddings, this modern, bohemian take on bridal styling is both achingly beautiful and heartwarmingly cosy.

Amber, from Rock & Stone, explains that the team wanted to create an ethereal and organic bohemian vibe, amidst the cold, grey Washington winter earlier this year.

The venue, Manchester Park, is famous for it’s red brick building: a former torpedo warehouse, with windowless arches and a weathered beamed ceiling. Along with the gorgeous stone fireplace, the venue has become a coveted wedding spot. The mood board was full of earthy and natural textures and deep reds and browns, and wouldn’t you agree the team hit the nail on the head! We’re loving the deep reds of the flowers, interspersed with cotton heads and feathers for a wonderful bohemian vibe.

With stunning macrame and silks, oodles of candles and just the right amount of styling to retain an effortless air, the tablescape with added cake by Sift & Gather is easily one of our favourite aspect of the teams efforts…although the model in a stunning Grace Loves Lace gown comes in a close second; perfectly primped and preened by mega babes Pacific Brides.

And would you look at that gorgeous stationery by the super talented Ink & Sable…we’re loving how the powdery pink edges tie back to the cake and the napkins. Just perfection!

Amber explains that the shoot had a couple of pressure points…

“The shoot was originally scheduled for February but we had to bring it forward after our stunning model was asked to fly to Milan for fashion week castings right after Christmas! She was leaving the following day so it made it extra special that she got to take farewell photos with her love.”

The bridal look is something we haven’t really seen before, so when Amber sent over the images, we were so excited by them. The turban, by Bridal Turban based in Italy, made for a gorgeous accompaniment to the gown and made a change from all the flower crowns we are used to seeing both as part of shoots and real weddings. Great to see something totally unique!
